I disagree with all of this "follow your heart" nonsense (sorry to those who gave that advice haha, I still love you :heart

. This is college, and it's a big decision financially, mentally, and emotionally. Don't just follow your heart, you MUST use your brain on this one too. If I followed my heart without visiting the campus that I originally wanted to go to, I would have HATED it. Because as nice as it seemed, when I visited the campus, I knew it wasn't the place for me.
However, you can't let your inability to visit the school keep you at home. It sounds like you really want to get away from home, so keep doing research. If everything seems great, then go for it. There are usually a LOT of places that give college reviews, so it's the next best thing to visiting there.
Ask as many current students as you can get a hold of. Even try randomly facebooking people...it can't hurt, and you could get a variety of responses (even if some people are mean, it's not like you know them, right?). Consider factors such as parking, housing, and what is in the surrounding area.
