when i try to connect to the net it comes up with the error code 51330. it can find my network fine but it just comes up with that when it tried to connect. can anyone give me any better help than simply going ot the nintendo website cause that thing just goes around in circles.

Mine's been doing the same thing. Any info would be appreciated.

Same here. I picked it up perfect. Once the forecast was downloaded, 2 days later it would connected to the internet.

you probably don't have a compatible router or strong enough signal.

Wrong on both counts in my situation. I have a DLink DGL-4300 wireless router which is on their list of compatible routers, and my signal is full.

Both the Wii and 360 online services have been having numerous issues since yesterday. It wouldn't surprise me if it had something to do with the earthquakes in Asia.

It probably did have something to do with the earthquakes since both XBL and my Wii net weren't working around the time of the earthquakes.

...typing this from my wii! :)

But my 360 connects no problem. :(

Same with me. Xbox 360 is full strengh. Wii just won't connect.

I know whoever has comcast as thier ISP may have problems because of firmware they have in their routers, especially the Netgear ones. I had the same issue where it finds my network and I put in my ssid and passcode and that 51330 error keeps coming up. It's no way to get around that if you have comcast and if you call they'll tell you a firmware update is on the way If you are renting a routher from them or should I say us because I work for comcast. The only thing you can do is switch your router for a cable modem from comcast and then buy your own router, thats what I had to do. If you don't use comcast the only other thing nintendo reps suggest is changing your transmition freaquency fron 6 to either 1 or 11 but I'm sure you knew that already if you've been to nintendo's website. Oh and the firmware only affects the wii because my ds worked fine and it was on the same router.

I had the same problem, but found the solution on nintendo's website.

All I did was open my router setting in my browser (I had to use IE to change the settings, not firefox) and changed the channel my router runs on. Now my Wii connects without a hitch. This fix is especially necessary if there are other wi-fi networks around (like my neighborhood) because the signals conflict when they're all on the same channel.

(I switched from the default channel to channel 6)

I got mine working last night too, and this was one of the things I had to do for it as well. The other things I did was update my firmware, WEP key it, and disabled my MAC filtering. Now mine is working like a charm as well.

I updated my firmware as well, but I'm not sure if I had to afterall.

quick question....how do you change the channel the router works on?

Probably through your browser. Either check your router manufacturer's support pages, or nintendo's support pages (which have guides for many routers).

For me (using a D-Link router), I loaded my router's address into IE, which open my router configuration page. I went to the page with the channel selection, made and saved the change, and rebooted my router. Wii started connecting right away. (I also changed the Tx speed to 52, but that was just so my DS could connect. I don't think it effected my Wii).

I changed all my settings in Firefox btw. It worked for me.
