Liam Neeson will star in Taken, which which will begin production in Paris Feb. 14.Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen wrote the project that centers on an ex-soldier (Neeson) whose daughter is kidnapped by slave masters while traveling in Europe. The soldier must track her down before she's shipped off and lost forever.

Neeson had been expected to headline Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, but Spielberg postponed the picture to instead direct the fourth Indiana Jones.

Love the sound of this

Besson spoke a bit about this in his CS interview

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=18294

We wondered whether District B13 director Pierre Morel, who is a very in-demand DP after shooting The Transporter and Unleashed, would helm the sequel as well, to which Besson mentioned another new project. "I will propose to him, but now he's going to direct a film for me called 'Taken,' something I wrote. Liam Neeson is going to have the first part. It's a great, great film." In the film, Neeson will play an ex-soldier, whose daughter is kidnapped by slave masters while traveling in Europe, so he must track her down before she's shipped off. Besson mentioned that there's likely to be a little bit of action for Neeson in the film, something the actor has experience with after appearing in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and Batman Begins.

:( Lincoln biopic will never happen :down

Maggie Grace ("Lost") has landed the female lead opposite Liam Neeson in the thriller Taken, a co-production between Luc Besson's Europa Corp. and 20th Century Fox, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Pierre Morel will direct from a screenplay by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.

Grace is set to play the estranged daughter of Neeson's character who is kidnapped and forced into the slave trade. Neeson's character is a former spy who uses his skills to rescue her.

Shooting begins this month in Paris.

Besson is producing alongside Pierre-Ange Le Pogam and India Osborne.

That looked decent .... Liam has 'skills'!

I followed the link after been mislead into thinking it was for 'tekken'.. looks cool but not something I would rush to the cinema to see...

Does anyone have a DL'able link ? I can't get that trailer to load. :csad:

well Famke Janssen is playing her mother...so they needed to put her down abit
Maggie looks really different with the dark hair and all somehow she looks alot like Famke

That's what I was thinking as well, actually, I didn't even recognize her at first...but I'm sure she'll do a good job.

Yeah she's a decent actress, the way she skipped in was kinda odd though lol. Neeson as a badass Agent is reason enough to see this, that guy talking into the phone smokes most actors best written deliveries. :woot:

neeson is such a great actor, hes talent is so powerful in all of his movies. one of my favorites.

God I love Liam Neeson, will definitely be checking this one out.

Ain't that the truth! The guy is a master at his craft.

Wow, I'm looking forward to this. :D

I love Maggie, and I actually believed she was 17! She looked/acted so much younger, which is weird because she looks so old for her real age (in a good way... like she looks more mature.)

And of course Liam Neeson is always great. Famke was looking great as well!

All in all, definitely want to see this one.
