Revenge of the Fallen Negatron Lives!!!

I'm so beyond the aesthetics for this film. I'm now hoping that (Transformer) story and (Transformer) character development might be slightly better... which is a dim light to try and find... but I'll still hope.

I feel that the only way to enjoy this film, like the original, is to not expect (Transformer) character development or be judgmental in regards to story, (like plot holes and dialog) and just enjoy the pretty CGI and the big booms. That is really what this film is made for....unfortunately.

This guy clearly has no idea what TF is about

Wrong! I know them too well and, since I've grow up, I'd like to see a mature take on the Transformers because the concept of vehicles turning into robots is not something that would only amaze little kids.
What I find silly is pretending to believe that advanced artificial intelligences would look and act like us: especially if alien computers.

Now, let's try to follow my concept:
  • TFs are alien morphing robots, thus means they absolutely don't think, talk or see the universe the same way we do.
  • Robots are non living entities who don't care about power or conquest. But they could surely care for energy sources to maintain themself online.
  • Robots, especially aliens, could learn to talk like us, but they would use that form of communication only for interaction with humans and not between themself (it would be like us going on Cybertron and deciding to talk to ourself like them).
  • Robots would more logically use some kind of loudspeaker to replicate human voices and not some absurd mouths with dinosaur-like teeth.
  • Did you notice that all the Autobots have exactly five fingers on each of their hands? How childish is that?
Now, I think the only TFs designed without humanoid restrictions as of now are just Skorponok, Ravage and Demolishor.
Everything else look too much obviously man-made.

Why would you want Optimus Prime to look like anything other then Optimus Prime. Transformers are Icons of the 80's. if you throw away everything away besides the concept of robot aliens transforming then its not really Transformers anymore.

Now I can understand your view point on how they would act being who they are. But if they did not have any human traits then how could any of us relate?
If you cant feel any empathy for a character then the story is a waist of time. Then again, how would you write a charchter that has no human traits? Thats further then any one of us can comprehend. No way that would translate well to the big screen.

You are right on the sharp teeth...those are just silly.

You don't need a robot to look and act like us to feel empathy for him.
The Autobots could still fight and perish to defend people and I didn't say they wouldn't interact with us ever.
Just don't make them talk in english when they're alone: that's a ridiculous mistake and has been overdone to death in the past, like in Star Trek and Star Wars.
And to recognize Optimus Prime, you don't need him to have eyebrows, hands, lips etc.
If you see a red flat nose truck, that's him. Period.
Even if his robot mode moves on weels instead of legs and doesn't have a humanoid head, I would accept it anytime over his man-like G1 mode.
I don't complain the producers to have screwed up the original versions, but to have made most of them look like monsters.
Demolishor has been bashed for not looking humanoid when his design is the perfect example of how the robots should keep their mechanoid shape in alternate mode.

no they didnt. only Optimus and IronHide did. BB and Ratchet had 4 fingers, Jazz had a hand of 4 claws.

Empathy is an understanding of another's emotions. How could you possibly understand the emotions of an alien race. On top of that they are robots. If they did not have human traits it would be highly unlikely that you could relate. Their would be no understanding. Interaction with humans or not, you would still have to tell the story from their view. I just don't see how you could write those characters with out personification.

I can understand this. It would make sense for them to speak thier native tounge. But the line where Megatron and Optimus meet where Megs says "Priiiime!" was pretty damn cool. Its harder to read emotion rather then just hear it the tone along with it.

Its not about recognizing, its about being true to iconic images. Its kind of like watching a sequel that has a new actor playing a character. You say to yerself "who the eff is that? thats not Raiden..thats not Christopher Lambert! WTF man!" If you change everything then you mine as well not call it Transformers. It would be like another zombie movie, the basic concept is there but just a rip off of Transformers. Most people prefer to stay pretty faithful to original material.

Demolishor has been bashed for not looking humanoid when his design is the perfect example of how the robots should keep their mechanoid shape in alternate mode.

Devastator is pretty cool, but I still enjoy the g1 look. Again its all about iconic imagery.

How can you bring up a "humanoid"argument?

Ever heard of evolution? Ever think that they would of evolved the same way we did with of course minor details? Ever think thats why they would have 5 fingers??

There is a reason that humans look the way they do, it allows for a great sense of mobility, to pick up objects, etc. So why wouldn't they look the same way considering there more advanced than us.

As for the sharp teeth same argument, you dont know what life is like on cybertron and it might be something they need to survive there or needed. Much like we don't use our small toe almost at all anymore, but its still there, or appendix for that matter.

Could of swore Barricade talked to Frenzy with an alien voice, and to be honest if I went to another country I'd do my research and try to use my language, especially if I was a vastly more intelligent being who needed help from the people from that country, they're trying to be a good role model for the people on earth, and if you speak another language it'd be hard to do.

As for Jazz..if everyone of the robots had the same personality they wouldn't be organic auto whatever that stupid scientist in the movie called it.

What I did have a problem in this movie was the lack of really good dialogue, they could of easily made the robots seem more intelligent,

Was Megatron in the Trailer? a lot of people said that it was him who smacked into Optimus in the trailer. but it looks like Starscream to me

I think that was Megatrons hand pinning Sam down.

"History of the Primes", I'd call that a positive thing.

Why should Transformers look like anything but Transformers, anyway? If they use your guideline, they may as call it something else. This makes no sense.
