That trailer was incredible. Its the first trailer this year to truly blow me away. It looks like it will be a very thought-provoking sci-fi film much like D9 was.

I really think Neil Blomkamp is going to end up being Hollywood's next James Cameron in terms of pushing technical and vfx boundaries in films.

He comes from a special effects background. However, I hope he dodges the path of Cameron and Peter Jackson and keeps focusing on actually telling good stories rather than getting up his own arse on the technical side of things.

It's not the best cut trailer but the movie looks good and the visuals look damn good. Color me excited to see more.

Lots of post Apocolyptian going on this year.

Very curious to see how this does at the box office. I never would of thought D9 would break $100 mill, but it did and with this you have 2 big names to help. I've noticed that just as many people seem to hate D9 as much as love it which is interesting.

I guess if you want to get all scientific then yeah. :p Is that all it's for, to make him betterstrongerfaster or is there some plot critical function to it?

Just imagine how bad ass his version of Halo would have been... Christ sake movie gods, honestly as fantastic as this looks, I would have scrapped this and District 9 if he had the chance to make a proper Halo trilogy...

Had he ever said he was interested in Halo?

He was attached to direct it.

Also, anyone who would have preferred Halo movies over District 9 and Elysium need a swift kick to the head. :o

I loved District 9... and you haven't even seen Elysium lol.

Regardless, I would have loved to have seen his Halo movies, more than these two. Those who can't simply respect that opinion even if they disagree need their intestines torn out thru their ******** and be hung up by them..

I got over my anger of him not directing a Halo film. He's churned out an awesome film and this looks just as awesome.

Yeah, he was attached to direct, but I was asking was he interested in the subject matter. That's a whole other question, haha.

The "HULC". (is what it's called in the script) is to give him strength, but also has an important function as well.

Ehhh I would not say that., Most liked/loved it. I mean critics praised it, user votes on most sites are pretty high, it did well for a Rated R film in August with no big names. I'd say most liked it.

I think like some said before with Matt and Jodie attached and a higher budget I'm sure they will make some good money if the quality is like D9's.

What I meant was with the release of the trailer I'm seeing quite a bit of Internet hate against D9 today. It is my favorite film, granted it's only 4 years old but I feel comfortable saying that.

I wouldn't. Welcome to the internet. Where hatred is usually amplified much more than anywhere else in the universe. If you are reading stuff from youtube comments, IMDB forums ect...you will hear nothing but that kind of stuff.

So ya. I don't think that at all. Most seemed to enjoy D9. There are groups on the internet that hate everything. The second it's not new anymore they want to throw it. Of course some legitimately may not like it, but from the reception and love for it I see on these forums and outside the internet. I will say it's not even close to a 50/50 split. Most seemed to enjoy it.

Nostalgia Critic for some reason really doesn't like District 9. Whats bizarre though nearly all of his complaints seem to stem from never having seen the second half of the film or something because he complains about things that are clearly addressed.
