HBO Go is basically their version of Netflix for their programs.
I have a feeling streaming services like Netflix, might be on the way out. Or, maybe not out, at least anytime soon, but are going to continue to be hurt. In the beginning, customers wanted streaming, but all the networks were too scared and ignorant to do it. So Netflix came along and said "Don't worry, you let us license your stuff, and we'll take care of all the nasty, messy internet stuff."
Well, now, networks are finally becoming more internet sophisticated. And Netflix has proven there's money to be made. So the networks are cutting out the middle man.
It won't happen immediately. Only the big cable companies who are used to going it alone and being ahead of the curve are pulling out. But that's already a noticeable hit in Netflix's offerings. Luckily for us, the big networks are digging their heels in the sand at providing streaming, still using advertising dollars from tv ratings as their source of income. So they're still probably quite happy pulling in Netflix's license fees rather than do it themselves.
