Netflix Changing Pricing Structure

The nice thing about class actions is that you don't have to do anything to opt out.

If we get something out of it, fine. If we don't, it doesn't really effect us.

I haven't gotten the email, yet.

Even if it turns out to be just $10, it's $10 I didn't have before. Why not.

$10 is enough to cover a month of an streaming or DVD-only subscription so why not just give people a freebie?

We always talk about Netflix and RedBox and Amazon...I see them in the news the most. But I don't see Hulu in the news much.

Hulu bothers me...I mean, I'm on Hulu Plus...but since i'm subscribing, why do I have to watch commercials still? And why do they have so many freaking anime with only ONE episode available?

You subscribe to Hulu for app access, i.e. on the PS3/360 or iPhone, and back catalog. Also, the ads are short and really not that bad.

I'm a little concerned about Netflix. Without them my only other option is Blockbuster Online. There's no where else to get anime and tv shows.

Might as well cancel your mail subscriptions now. The USPS is getting rid of next day mail which means DVD's will take an extra 1-3 days to get to you.

****! I need to watch Citizen Kane before Thursday and I'm sending back Brazil today.

I wonder how that will effect Amazon ? & their Release Date Guarantee on Game Delivery ?

Is anybody else having trouble with streaming?

Was wondering has anyone heard any new news reguarding if netflix is still going to loose starz play in feb or not.

Yep. No Starz for Netflix in Feb, but they are going to go the HBO GO route in the future.

If you subscribe to HBO through your satellite or cable company, then you get access to HBO GO. You can access Movies and their Shows on the web. Starz is planning to do something similar.

Man really sucks they still haven't made a new deal with starz. I hope they do before. End of deal happens. That is a boatload od stuff they loose for starz programing.

It's not going to happen.

Starz President Chris Albrecht:

Albrecht called the decision to cut ties with Netflix "a big boy choice" that will benefit his company in the long term. "We would have eroded...our core business," Albrecht said at the investor conference for his channel's parent company, Liberty Media. "Within two to three years the Netflix deal would have been a drag on Starz's earnings."

er...doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose? Why would I watch it on the web if I am already subscribed through cable? :P

You can watch anywhere really. Even on your phone. It's not a Netflix alternative, but it is the way Starz is headed.

The real draw to HBO GO is the back catalog. You can easily watch full seasons of basically every HBO show.

oh ua probably not going to happen but who knows things could always change at the last moment. Take for example time warner cable last few yrs usually at this time of the year they announce x channels/group of channels may be dropped if said parent companies dont make a new deal and usually on the last day they end up changing minds and sign a new deal. Would be nice if it happens for netflix. IF not still sucks they would loose all the stuff starz has open for viewing.

so, if im not a HBO subscriber (which im not) then i wont be able access HBO GO from netflix? bummer.
