Fantasy Netflix's The Witcher - General Discussion Thread

Everyone was crowing about his wig and such, but it was really his shirt that put me off, lol.
The wig stole the show for a lot of people, but his clothes looked no less odd, I agree. It somehow looked fancy and ugly at the same time. Decorated belt, weird patterns... It looked a bit too much like a uniform. And it doesn't make much sense.

Really wonder why we haven't gotten anything else other than that test footage? Kind of shocked to be honest.

He will probably remain Supes in public consciousness just factually, but I really hope material and directing will elevate his Witcher performance. So he becomes the definitive live action Geralt. And it's earned by quality, not because he played the role.

I'm also a bit tired of Cavill advertising various **** and pretending it's somehow Witcher-related.
Yes, as you say I hope he becomes the definitive Witcher through a great performance in a top representation of the material.

Because this is probably over a year away from release.

And netflix barely promotes their shows. They wait until about a month before a show premieres to release a trailer. With this they might release a teaser a few months before. And we might get a poster sometime next year.

The show is releasing in 2019.

The show is releasing in 2019.

Is that confirmed by Netflix? If it is confirmed we'll probably get a trailer sometime in the Fall.

Do netflix ever confirm a date this early? The haven't got any schedule they need to keep.

It will be released when it's ready and we will probably see a trailer around 6-8 weeks before it is. That seems to be how netflix does it. As for posters i really don't know.

That's what I thought. I really dont expect this until 2020. A show like this is going to need an intensive post production.

i mean we didn't get a punisher trailer until like 2 weeks before lol

Netflix probably isn't ready to release anything yet. They are still in middle of filming.

And I guess where they are, there's not a lot of great opportunities for spy pictures or leaks.

I don't think it's impossible to come out this year, but I think we still have some time before we start seeing material.

They need to get it right from the first episode. If they need time to make that happen then take it, just don’t stuff it up!

it's 8 episodes, and when comparing filming schedules with GoT, i see no reason why we couldn't get it this year.
