Fantasy Netflix's The Witcher - General Discussion Thread

Well I guess the good news to take away from this is that they have some rough/early cuts of episodes probably without all the post-FX all the visual elements added in. And it's still early in 2019. So maybe they will have Season 1 ready to go before the end of the year.

It definitely is coming out this year.

daww saw someone's sensitive. as if there's so much to discuss right now

Per the reddit page, Tea might appear in episode 6, played by Adele Oni.

Adele Oni - IMDb

Seems to suggest that Three Jackdaws might appear in the show.

its hilarious... seeing stuff on facebook too... people crying about the show meant for 18+ isnt family friendly lol

I guess they were expecting it to be like a .... LotR/Harry Potter type thing? No idea... people are whining thought... Likely haven't (or don't even know) it's based off of games/books

I don't really get how anyone could come to that conclusion if you've ever read the books or even only know it for the games. The Witcher has always been more adult, darker fantasy. The books are filled with copious amounts of sex, violence and gore.

I have definitely seen a lot of the complaints are definitely from fair weather fans who have only ever played The Witcher 3 and are judging things only from that lens.

Is this like a screentest?

That said, I did think the line about vaping was kind of funny.

Probably a screentest for something. Is it the same Edgar Wright that made Baby Driver?

I wonder if it is that Edgar Wright.

The audio of the guy is a bit weird. Is he talking to her through an intercom or a speaker phone or skype?

They couldnt have played much of Witcher 3. It has people being burned to death on pyres, religious and racial persecution, bigotry, sexual abuse, gruesome murders, mutilation, demons, dismemberment, the effects of war, those three nasty witches, the Wild Hunt...its a very mature game.
