You know for something that says they aren't adapting the video games, they sure as hell like using imagery from the video games. :funny:

Not that I am complaining. I dig it. But the inspiration is clear. It is the Witcher 3, full stop.

I mean I see the similarities, but the games adapted the books too, so it's not surprising there are similarities.

It's not like The Witcher 3 invented this type of imagery either, or a white haired swordsman and antihero.

i dont know what planet you guys are on... but theres never been a handsome swordsman in any medium that i have ever seen

If you explore the imagery of the Witcher before and after CDPR, it is fundamentally different. Especially post-Wild Hunt. Which basically standardized the look they were going for in Assassins of Kings. It use to be a lot more generic, not dissimilar to the first Witcher game. Him at the bar is literally a screen shot from Wild Hunt. How he is standing, his outfit, his look, the over the shoulder shot looking at the other people in the bar, everything.

Excuse me, ladies... gentlemen.... we need to ask the real question... the most important one.....

Will Cavill play Gwent?

You think Geralt never went to taverns or pubs in the books? He did, in great detail.

Are you being obtuse on purpose? I am not saying he didn't do those things. I am saying how it looks, is very in line with how it all looked in the Witcher 3. This is just like Tolkien material before Jackson's trilogy and after. That scene with Geralt in the bar looks like an actual scene from Witcher 3. Mainly as it is framed in a similar manner.

Genuine question, can you show me the images of Geralt or the world of the Witcher looking that way before CDPR and especially Witcher 3?

By the way, I am not even complaining. I like the way it looks. But the attempts of the showrunner to act like they don't even know the game exist is so disingenuous. This show only exist because of the games, and it is clear how much influence they have here. I do wonder if this has to do with appeasement of the author, which I would understand. But doesn't make it anymore true.

I'm not saying it looks nothing like the games, but it doesn't look like to me they copied a scene out of a game either other than Geralt's at a tavern and leaning on the bar table.

Henry Cavill loves the games. I'm sure he's taking some inspiration there for his performance. All I've heard Hissrich say about the games is that they aren't adapting them and have no intent to do so, which is factually correct.

If it is featured in the show it might be different from the games' version of Gwent. The books don't provide details about it so CDPR had to create the rules and format themselves. I think CDPR own the version in the games.

oh so you didn't click the link? or are you just being the typical VisionsVision and crying again?
How about just putting me on ignore? You are making my time here on the forums not enjoyable and your bullying tactics are getting real tiresome.

Give it a break.

No one is trying to bully you.... but when you make smart ass comments like this....

That image was released in July.

without clicking the link.... which had new images in it... I will reply with a jackass response every time. You say I'm a bully... I say stop making yourself look like a fool and actually contribute instead of being snarky and crying every single post.

And no I won't ignore you... I haven't given up hope that you actually might be a cool dude.

Moving on...

Great pics... and hey lets cross our fingers for the Oct 31 trailer release.

Roach would not be standing that close to the spider. She would be a mile away before Geralt could pick his ass up from the mud.

Composer still working on the show's music, probably safe to rule out November for the release. December's still what I'm betting on.

Good images other than the Nilfgaard armor. So much for the nonsense about it only being for background extras. The concept art for the kikimore fight also looks really cool.

As far as Gwent, Gwent in Witcher 3 is not Gwent in the books. In the books the card game is called Gwint and translated into English as "barrel." And it's not like The Witcher version of Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone. It's played similarly to contemporary bridge.
