But I will have to watch it again since I watched it on Sunday after I seen Spiderman and was half watching the series and half posting my thoughts in the Spiderman forums on my phone. Yeah that's on me for sure lol

So what? Every single horse Geralt ever had is always called Roach.

I am not happy with that season, because it not only changes most of the things from the books but also mess it's own plot changes (especially geography in last episodes). Much weaker season than the first.

I think episodes 1, 2, 5 and 7 will end up my favourites of this series, 1 being particularly good just for Kristofer Hivju's performance alone.

Its why i wait for the PS5 upgrade next year, then this beast will be tackled again...maybe really on Death March.

Trust me, Death March is a pain in the ass but doing it as a New Game+ makes it much easier. I didn't do the expansions on DM cause I read that Blood and Wine is nearly impossible on it and I already platinum'd the game lol

The Wolf Armor hands down is the best in the game too, imo. The Serpent Armor is tied with it too and just looks so sleek.

I liked the first half of the season fine but it got better from 5 onwards. This show just wouldn’t have worked without the right actress for Ciri.

Yeah Freya had a lot of heavy lifting to do this season after being a back ground character first season and thankfully she delivered on that front. I think one thing this series gets right more often than not is the casting, especially of the key characters. There's still a lot of new characters to come, depending how closely they stick to the books *cough*, so it will be interesting to see if they keep getting that right as some of my favourites are yet to come.

Yeah there were some great moments in the later episodes and fights, the moments with Jaskier and Yen were really great too, the chemistry between the leads is there for sure. Loved all the training Ciri has with Geralt, Yen & Vezimir.

Yeah it’s training on all fronts. Witcher warrior physical skills and hardcore casting with Yen. Cool to see her develop.

I can't let go of the stupidity of having Ciri possessed by Voleith Meir and murdering a bunch of Witchers in their sleep in the finale. That was so ****ing stupid.

Also, Voleith Meir turns into one of the riders of the Wild Hunt, WTF is going on?

Yennefer shouldn't curse this much either.

It's "welcome to the ouch mother****ers" Faye Valentine all over again.

Reading that spoiler makes me want to hunt down all the writers of this series.

TW3 strays a tiny bit from the books yet ends the series beautifully. The books themselves were decent, I personally loved the short stories vs the whole actual saga.

Its pretty much the reason why the entire series is relevant if we are honest, I doubt that many people read the books before the games became big, perhaps in its native Poland itself they were well known and popular but i cant believe too many in the UK or US read the books before the games blew up the franchise. Personally I didnt discover the books even existed until after playing Witcher 2 and 3, and CDPR created such a rich and deep world even the books couldnt live up to the games.

The books are good and I enjoyed reading them but they have their problems as well, the story is a bit meandering at times and characters can disappear for long periods of time, the ending too I have major issues with. The show I think suffers from similar issues to the books, there are great moments and great characters but the short stories often work far better than the overall plot of the books/shows, the side journey is better than the destination if you will.

The problem for the show is that it seems no matter how good they can/could have got CDPR already designed a better world building experience in terms of aesthetic look, background character and general feel of the Continent and monsters etc BUT even the game game into some flack for the way it dealt with the overall ending of the story and the use of the Wild Hunt and Eredin in particular, when I think back to the great moments in W3 its more the short stories and side quests rather than the main plot, like the Bloody Baron or Ladies of the Wood or the amazing DLC which had little to nothing to do with Ciri that really stand out.

But thats just my take on things, others will see it differently of course.

Heh, it is considered an absolute classic and was popular years before the games and for the last 20 years I consider it to be the best book I've ever read. Also, it was translated to many languages BEFORE the games. And netflix' second season is lazy written abomination and has very little in common with the books.

I’m confident Witcher 4 will be the game of a generation when it comes out. CD Projekt Red’s reputation won’t survive Witcher 4 failing after Cyberpunk so they will be going all out. Hopefully the show is still going at that point (might not be realistic) so that it can benefit from that.

I'd say the most unprofessional part of that review was the incredible lack of research. It was reviewed by TWO people and neither of them bothered to go beyond Wikipedia. I remember one of them dismissing the whole "Lesser Evil" conversation because it was clearly pulled from a video game (Because it talked about choice?) When it was word for word from the book.

Even if it were from the video game. . . so what? Is a good impactful line somehow no longer, because of which medium it happened to be written for? Or did they take the view that "Anything from video games is intrinsically trash"?

aside from the Beauty and the Beast-esque plotline with Kristofer Hivju's character in episode 1 I haven't been enjoying this nearly as much as the first season, although it has started to pick up now that Jaskier's showed up.
