New Animated Wonder Woman on WB’s ‘Radar’

Exactly this. I'm all for non-Bat characters getting exposure. But phoning in a low-quality, low-marketed DTV video isn't the way to do it. Especially coming off Wonder Woman's cinematic success, when there should be an appetite for this.

Sadly, true. The DTV animated movies just aren't what they used to be. Now it's lower budget, lower risk, lower stakes. So that they don't have to worry too much and they can keep the output consistent.

Just watched Wonder Woman: Bloodlines. A bit meh. Maybe 6½/10. Some really questionable story telling or character development. Silver Swan acting like Octavia on The 100 was bit too on the nose for me (same actress doing the voice acting). What's the next animated film coming from this universe?

the sequel to JL Dark

This looked really bad. Bad designs and animation, and what appears to be a convoluted story. I have little interest in this. I loved the first WW movie, this looked cheap. I’ll wait for it to pop up on DCU

I really enjoyed this , and the story was perfect - far from convoluted it was tied together really well, it did a great job of previewing a lot of Wonder Woman's rogue gallery. It had a central theme of motherly, daughterly, and sisterly bonds. I rank this movie up there with the 2009 film and recent DC output like Hell to Pay and Reign of the Supermen.

Light spoilers
We gloss over Diana's origin, to juxtapose her relationship with her mother with Vanessa Kapatelis and her mother Julia Kapatelis. Vanessa becomes Silver Swan, gets in deep with Villainy Inc, and the bad guys want to find Themyscira at the same time Diana wants to find it. Chaos ensues. Also, there's a character in this movie that appears in the 3rd act that wasn't mentioned at all. Great surprise. And the credit scene is one final twist, hinting at more Wonder Woman films possibly.

Only cons is that Cheetah got the short end of the stick again. Former archaeologist Barbara wasn't instrumental in the "Finding Themyscira" plot at all. She was a hired mook, same with Giganta.

It certainly wasn’t as good as the 2009 film; but I liked it well enough. This DCAU has been far from perfect, but this was a nice entry that highlighted WW’s rogues and out a different spin on the origin.

I got all the themes, but the story was from perfect. It was really unrealistic the way they completely ignored the younger Vanessa and above all, the way they completely ignored what she said at the meeting
where her mother died
. She said to Wonder Woman and the others that they didn't know what they were doing. If she wasn't going to double cross Dr Poison, what was the point of having her say that?

I will say that the fight with Cheetah ended very smartly.

Finally watching this and for the most part....very underwhelming. Major downgrade from the first WW animated movie, they just shoveled in majority of WWs greatest enemies for some weird reason.

When Medusa enters it gets decent but the Amazons act as if they have no idea who Medusa is and continue to stare at her. But the Diana/Medusa fight was pretty good.

This movie was pretty good, but nothing amazing. It made me REALLY wish we'd finally get a WW animated series to see arcs like this fleshed out way more. Vanessa's arc to become the Silver Swan worked well in the comics because she was a long time supporting character, this one was rushed through in 15 minutes. For a serializes series, it would be a good season 2 or 3 arc for her.

It was really neat to see Wonder Woman's core cast (minus a Wonder Girl) represented in a movie: Steve, Etta, the Kapatelis women, Ferdinand, Hippolyta. Plus seeing so many villains was cool. Dr. Cyber was probably my favorite; she had a great voice and design. Veronica Cale, Dr. Poison and the pleasant surprise of Medusa were also very good, though Veronica and Cyber's shared back story from the comics not making it into the movie was a let down.

Cheetah and Giganta were wasted through, especially the former. They were just glorified mooks. I feel like Cheetah was there because she's the most marketable and she was expected to be there, but the role could have been filled by another underutilized villain. It doesn't help that her Rebirth origin and prior friendship to Diana were absent, as well as her role in finding Themyscira. This was given to Julia instead, who herself was done dirty here.

Great to see the Amazons having technology as a plot point, not so great to see Diana and Hippolyta butt heads. Though there are far worse examples of shady/antagonistic Amazons.

Overall, this was like a teaser sampler of characters that highlights how we NEED a WW cartoon to give them all space and add more.

I enjoyed this as well, but WW rogue gallery really felt kind of wasted in it, especially Cheetah and Giganta. The Medusa fight was great though, and Rosario's WW has really started to grow on me the more I see her in these animated movies and man is she a badass.

Jefferey Donovan as Steve Trevor was a real delight too.
