For those of you who have read the first part of Century, I'm sure you'r probably well aware of the annotations that Jess Nevins put up on his site. These can be seen at http://www.geocities.com/athens/olympus/7160/annos.html

There are still a fair number of annotations that haven't yet been checked. According to Nevins Twitter blog, he's currently working on getting the annotations to the text story up but there are still some areas that are missing from the comic pgs.

If anyone identifies anything feel free to post it here. I've identified a few that weren't mentioned but would like to hear some comments to see if anyone's actually interested before posting some of these (which can be sent to Jess Nevins by e-mail)...

Here's a few questions to get things started that I've been trying to figure out:

Pg. 5 Mummies?
Pg. 8 Crab like claw at the top right corner. There's also a huge scuba suit to the left of this panel.
Pg. 8 Panel 2: The saying "mobilis in mobile" I'm guessing is from an old latin phrase, which has probably been spoofed many times over by others.
Pg.12 panel 1: 2 props by Carnacki?

Pg. 13 panel 3: The knight with the scary face I believe also appeared somewhere in the Fables comic strip. It's out of some fairy tale I beleive but I can't place exactly what. Also, the design above the fire place possibly appeared (in some variation or another) in a previous league volume or is spoof off of a common emblem/motif or some sort of design insignia from Great Britain. Does it perhaps signify the House of Lords?

Pg. 14 any of the background items

There are many others that haven't been included in Jess's annotations yet too. Any ideas?

One thing that I forgot to mention was that besides direct panel references, there are some pretty good interpretations that can be made too.

I've read some of these over at the 4colorheroes board.

Some of the recurring symbols that Alan uses like the black cats, eye, masonic compass, Brittania, the question mark, and the rose are some that come to mind after reading century.
