Damn you Alan Moore.

By making a comic about absolutely everything fictional that is entertaining, informative, and just plain wacky at places (I mean, making Toad of Toad Hall a creation of Dr. Moreau? That's just batty) you have conquered my entire mind.

I am now unable to look at any work of fiction without wondering how it would fit into the League-verse. I mean, I saw Withnail & I a few weeks ago, and my first thought was "Will this be referenced in Volume 3?" I've now sat through an overlong production of a Wagnerian opera and that hare-brained adaptation of Orlando with Tilda Swinton just so I could try to better understand what the hell Moore was talking about in Black Dossier.

Sure, it's opened me up to a lot of great pieces that I never would have looked at before. But still, thanks to the League I am now familiar with Fireball XL 5. How the hell will knowing what Fireball XL 5 is help me in the future?

So again, damn you Alan Moore. Damn you for creating something that has assimilated my entire worldview and held my imagination captive.

And please, please, please hurry up with Volume 3.

I know how you feel man, I can't wait for LXG vol.3 either(I 'm just glad there is a Vol.3)

Yeah. Apparently he's going to work in Monty Python and The West Wing into it. I won't be able to think about anything else until then.

I finally got my hands on the third volume! It's truly heavy reading, but I think I'll enjoy researching it! The ending revelation is a whopper!

What!? How? its not out til sometime in the new year...

It's available in both giant-sized hardbound and paperback over here. Let me tell ya, this book is not for kids.

I really enjoyed vol. 1 and 2, but didn't like Black Dossier. It became too much like Promethea at the end.

Still looking forward to vol.3 though.

Except the two main characters had already found refuge from the ever-growing mundane world. Would they decide to return to fight evil seems moot. Knowing that they've embraced the fantastic elevates them to a higher plane. Look at Orlando. An entire life getting involved in some war or another. (Dorian Gray would have hated that guy.) The conspiracy in British Intellgence is just another drop in the bucket. But knowing these legends have 'ascended' still gives hope for better tomorrow.

Another thing I love about vol.3 is Orlando's short biography. The way he/she attributes the Greek, Classical heroes as being as unstable as Nephilim was priceless. Since Kevin O'Neill is the co-creator I see how they threw in that particular angle. This is why I love Marvel the creating the MODERN superhero.

When Orlando and Haddo describe the reason for the Trojan War I laughed my ass off. The last film on the Trojan War was a travesty. How could they whitewash so many aspects of the Illiad? The death of Hector was the worst because it's one of the most overblown death scenes in the epic. And yet, they PG'd it to heck.

Damn Hollywood and Sean Connery for interfering with the film LXG and sending poor Stephen Norrington into seclusion because of Connery's religous ties to the "I suck" tribe of planet Suckington.

I'm currently trying to acquire the Absolute editions for both Vol. 1 and 2.

Since the thing is out of print, I have to go to Amazon and Ebay for them.
