New Ant-man & Wasp Mini Series

I find it unintentionally hilarious that Marvel is promoting this mini while, at the same time, making a big promotion out of Pym becoming Giant-Man again in AVENGERS ACADEMY #7. If there was any signal that said, "that is the more important title, and so this mini isn't terribly important" (especially since O'Grady is in SECRET AVENGERS), this is it. And Marvel will charge $4 an issue for a mini that, by their own promotion, they acknowledge may be fun but not important. They fail to understand that they market they've helped create only rewards "important" titles, and despite all their assumptions that their readers are blithering neanderthals, they seem quite adept at figuring out which books are "more equal" than others. And then their two top editors will give an interview on CBR and are unable to fathom why smaller books or those unique good titles don't sell as well as AVENGERS.

It does seem like a case of extraordinarily bad timing. Especially since there was like a year and some change that they could've brought this out for when Hank would've been the Wasp.

A House Of Ideas is nothing if only a select few can execute them properly.

O'Grady's sideburns are insane. Normally only Sean Cassidy or Logan could pull those off.

What the hell? Is *****ebag Ant-Man doing his best Wolverine impression?

I think they're just a 19th-century thing and/or a grungy, don't-feel-like-shaving-my-whole-face thing. :o

And that's more than I ever wanted to know about Thomas Jefferson...

It still is a shame that the timing of this is bad. The gimmick is negated by the fact that Pym basically retires his tenure as the Wasp in December, halfway through this. Of course, this is the same Marvel that admits on CBR that it's overdoing Deadpool and that they need to cut back on spam, yet they're content with 4 X-Books rather than allow ASTONISHING X-MEN to end after Warren Ellis is done. Nope, bring on Daniel Way. :p

It looks good to me. Being a *****e is what O'Grady does best, although he's had more moments of nobility lately. Rogers got him to join the SECRET AVENGERS, and he actually saved their rears in the first arc. He also helped keep the spear of Odin out of Osborn's hands (alongside Paladin and the Avengers).

Still hate his retro suit, though. I miss his "GI ANT-MAN" one, although as it was invented by a Skrull, I guess he wouldn't want to don it anymore for the bad PR.

Hmm. It never seems to be a good idea when super-scientists make lists...
