New batman tattoo

Pretty much my sentiment. You do need to look at what's feasible and what will last over time. These two particular images could prove problematic with a lesser talented tattoo artist. It's worth pulling a BUNCH of Batman images you really love, talking with a bunch of tat artists who's work you like to see who you click with and find out what is possible and doable and then work with them to come up with something customized. Having something inked pretty much directly out of a comic is akin to pulling flash off the wall and having it put on; it's generic and nothing special, saying nothing about who you are and why you got it done. Having something done custom with your input and ideas will give it more life and meaning in the long run.

Good luck and remember that only *****es whine or bleed when they get inked. :oldrazz:

You should do a thread about Tats jag. Wow. :yay:

There are already a couple of tat threads where we've really gotten into the nitty gritty of ink, from picking your design to finding an artist to aftercare to the spirituality of getting tattoos.

Jag, do you only have the panther and jaguar tats?
or do you have any others

I only have the two, though they are pretty large pieces. I'm kicking around some ideas for some new ink, though.

Jeez, I've seen a lot of horrible tattoo ideas, but pretty much everyone's is rock solid gold compared to one I saw this weekend.
On a guy's belly, it was a chimp, bent over, looking at us between his knees, smiling, and the dude's navel was where the chimp's rectum should be.

Hands Down the worst "I didn't like getting laid anyway." tattoo I've ever seen.

No offense to jag, but... 2? That's it? Why is jag being regarded as the authority on tattoos? Because he's well spoken and his posts are wordy? Nothing personal jag... :meow:

They may only be two pieces, but they are rather large and demonstrate an ability to smartly choose an artist and design and understand how to properly care for them. I also believe I understand some of the spirituality of tattooing and have been able to articulate that. There are plenty of other people here with more ink than me, and at least one full-fledged tattoo artist (draw4u).

Can you tell me the story behind them?
you always just seem to give vague short kind of explanations.

I'm kind of curious what the story is behind them.

Its not quantity its quality and Jag's tattoo's are probably the best works of body art I have ever seen

Okay, I'm not a fan of tats. But those are pretty cool.

I have one on my shoulder and am designing one for my back. However, I'm not professing any kind of expertise. I have designed countless tattoos for friends, family and clients and I still would not claim to be anything other than an observer. I have had people ask me to design the stupidest looking **** for them to put on their body. 9 times out of 10, I do it because I know they won't go through with it. I don't believe for a second that this guy will actually get this tattoo. I'd almost bet that over the weekend he saw someone's tattoo and thought "That would look kickass if it were Batman!" and I doubt the thought has gone further than that.

You seriously need to actually LOOK for things before throwing out statements like that. jag's tattoos are good, but "the best (you've) ever seen"? Google is your friend...

As I stated before this is nothing personal against jag...

I've put enough time into researching and understanding ink, long before I ever got any, that I can probably proclaim a bit more expertise with them than someone who's never had any at all. I've never claimed to be a full blown expert, though. I just share my thoughts and what little insight I have when someone asks rather than whining like a nancyboy when other people who have just as much or more expertise than I do get referenced for their expertise or their own inkwork.

No offense taken. There are some very remarkable pieces out there. Then again, "best" and "better" are subjective. And, besides, if those are the best HE'S seen, those are the best HE'S seen. *shrug*

jag

wow, nothing personal, but BRUTAL suuuuure wants to make sure we keep jag in perspective as a flawed human, just one more non-descript pin point in an ocean of billions of cool pin points.

That's kind of my point though, people MAKE THREADS to tell people they thought about doing something PERMANENT and yet they don't have interest enough to actually research it beyond, "Hey I wonder what an internet message board thinks."

I wasn't implying that you profess to be an expert jag, I was saying that people regard you as one because your posts tend to be well composed and wordy. Your posts consist mostly of common sense and thought. Whereas the posters asking the question haven't even exerted anything even remotely resembling thought when asking the question.

Was that "whining like a nancyboy" remark directed at me?

Spoken like someone who truly understands the difference between conversation and argument. jag you have once again proven to be one of the more mature posters on the Hype. Unless the "nancyboy" jab was directed at me, in which case **** you.

The nancyboy comment was a joke, dude. I thought you of all people would catch that.

At any rate, I view people who make threads like this one as sort of starting the research phase before they get a tat. Especially if people like you and I can chime in and maybe give them something to think about past whether they picked a cool design or not.

Joke caught and returned jagoff :meow:

I disagree that this thread is a beginning phase of research I think it's yet another cry for attention from a less popular poster :The Spawn:

I think it's such a big deal that I am bugged by the "Which do you think I should get?" thing.

Don't get it unless it's a design you have known you wanted for years, you almost feel like you have to get it, like you were born to get it. Like it's the one, coolest, most "you" thing to get.
(of course that doesn't count for people who like the cluttered look where every inch is covered with some little thing, necessarily.)

It may be. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, though. And if he's not serious, then maybe someone who was will have read some of this and give some more serious thought to what they might do with their ink.

jag

Yeah if you're asking advise on a forum about what pic looks better, then you're not in love with either one enough to put on your body. Plus they would have to be nearly as big as the pics posted or you risk losing detail and that kind of art is hard to pull off in a tattoo.

I will say that you are a bit more gracious than I. I say if you make a ****/attention ****e thread then you should be punished. I'm a one strike and you're out type of guy I guess.
