New for 2005: DC Animated Showcase!

Thank You Very Much, Spike. It's a damn shame that Mr. James had to die. I'm making the corrections right now

Yo Ken! You Have Been Kickin' *ss With The Showcase, But I Have Two Queestions: 1. Where Are The Gl Corps Showcases? 2. Are These Going To Be Legitly Published Or This Is Your Bid To Get Warner Bros. Thinking Of This Format? Bottom Line I Like This, Especially The Nightwing And Flash Episodes.

I'm glad you asked that question GLBatFan, The Green Lantern Corps makes their first appearance in Segment 18, replacing Legion of Superheroes, which will be moved to Segment 23, after Flash's return appearance.

I like doing this, especially when it gives me a chance to piss Warner Brothers off for screwing our established animated continuity. But I may pull a fast one in the future and save Bruce Timm's spot in the DC Animated Universe by giving him some of my ideas.

Kenny.

Segment 15: The Brave and the Bold 3
(Brought to you by The Starlet, ten actresses, one Hollywood ending. A brand-new reality series Sundays after Charmed on the WB.)

Episode Eleven: Young Justice Unlimited: Pom-Poms and Backpacks

Nerdy Richie Foley (Jason Marsden), the superhero known as Gear, finally arrives at YJ Academy to rejoin his friend Static (Phil Lamarr) and his cousin Rachel (Andrea Taylor), who are already there as students! But, when Volcana invades the school with a repowered Hotstreak, Heat Wave, Tar Pit, and Firefly (the DC version) looking to bring down the Pierce sisters, It'll be up to Gear and Pom-Pom Girl, and Black Lightning, to take out this fiery metahuman gang and rescue Joanna and Anissa from Volcana's latest attempt in this scorching episode!

Episode Twelve: Superman/Green Lantern: The Ghost of Space

Superman and Green Lantern (George Newburn and Phil Lamarr) are on a mission in deep space when they discover a mysterious planet where they meet up with a young police officer named Thaddeus Ghostal (David Boreanaz) who just lost his family to a brutal murder by forces linked to a murderous dictator named Lord Moltar (David Kaye), who has subjugated the planet to outright slavery! But, what Clark and John don't know, is that Thaddeus has deadly new ace up his sleeve, as we get to witness the return of one of Hanna-Barbera's greatest superheroes - Space Ghost! - to full crimefighting status in this out-of-this-world episode!

Episode Thirteen: Plastic Man/Elongated Man: Hey, Hey, It's the Impossibles!

Oh, buddy! we've got a serious situation here, as Plastic Man (Dave Coulier) makes his very first appearance in the DC Animated universe. And, he, Elongated Man (Jeremy Piven) and their wives, Sue (Marcia Cross) and Penelope (Teri Hatcher) are on a cruise ship together when they find themselves dealing with a group of metahuman musicians who are committing a rash of robberies on the ship! But, what Ralph, Brian, Sue and Penny are about to discover, is that these are no ordinary musicians, for they were once a crimefighting trio called the Impossibles! And Rebound (Nick Lachey), Liquid (Joshua "JC" Chasez) and Replicon (Usher Raymond IV) are making their very first DC Universe appearances as former H-B heroes in this episode! (Replicon, Liquid, and Rebound are the new names of Multi-Man, Fluid Man and Coil-Man, respectively!)

Episode Fourteen: Wonder Woman/Big Barda: When Women Wage War!

What happens when you bring together an Amazon Princess like Diana (Susan Eisenberg) with a former Female Furie like Barda (Farrah Forke) and put them in the same damn episode! Get ready for the biggest load of estrogen since "Desperate Housewives" as a misunderstanding between Diana and Barda over the arrival of Barda's little sister Brianna (Lacey Chabert) on Earth leads to the biggest brawl between two superpowered women in DC Comics history! But, it may be Brianna and Cassandra (Maggie Blue O'Hara) to the rescue of their arrogant older sisters as Wonder Girl and Speed Queen must not only separate the two women, but also deal with Granny Goodness and a reconstituted battallion of Female Furies who are looking to recruit the young neophyte speedstress into their unit! Wonder what Scott Free would say about this one?

Episode Fifteen: Metamorpho: Urania Blackwell's Indecent Proposal!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if someone offered you a million dollars just to sleep with them? That's what happens to Metamorpho when his female counterpart, Elementrix (Sarah Carter), comes to visit looking to ruin the hero's marriage to her rival, Sapphire Mason (Danica McKellar)! But, can Rex even resist the beauty of this green-haired, similarly powered villainess long enough just to be faithful to Sapphire in this episode too raunchy enough for even the Adult Swim crowd on Cartoon Network?

Kenny,

Hope you're still writing the DC and Marvel episodes. I look forward to the creativity and fun that comes from them.

with apoloigies to scooby doo

KENNY MCCALL WHER ARE YOU?

Sorry guys, I had to take a month-long break from doing the fanfics because I was burned out, and my home computer kept pissing me off! Also, I had just returned from New York where I mourned the death of my father recently. But I'm back now to do both DC and Marvel fanfics, so lets continue the enjoy the fun stuff, okay?

As for Frankenstein Jr., he will return in the next Brave and the Bold in an episode where he teams up with Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E.! Let the sexual tension between the now 25-year-old Buzz Baxter and Courtney Whitmore begin!

Segment 16: Captain Marvel: The Power of Shazam
(Billy Batson gets his first animated series in 25 years!)

Voice Cast:

Billy Batson: Shane Haboucha
Captain Marvel: Jerry O'Connell
Mary Batson: Anna Sophia Robb
Mary Marvel: Amy Jo Johnson
Mentor: Gary Chalk
Sterling Morris: Peter Cullen

Episode One: The Power of Shazam

In this episode set before he joins the Justice League in the upcoming JLU ep "The Clash" we meet Billy Batson, a young orphan forced to live on the street selling newspapers. But, when he meets a mysterious old wizard named Shazam, he finds himself involved in the greatest adventure of his life when he suddenly gains the power to become the World's Mightiest Mortal - Captain Marvel! - in this world-premiere episode!

Episode Two: Mary Marvel - The World's Mightiest Maiden!

Even though it was Billy Batson who got the Captain Marvel powers last episode, there was another kid hiding out in the subway that night: a little girl named Mary - Mary Bromfield, and when she also receives the power of Shazam, we are introduced to a brand-new member in the Marvel family - Mary Marvel - who happens to be Billy's long-lost sister!

Episode Three: Mentor

The wizard Shazam finds himself in a sticky situation, as he must tutor the orphaned Batson in the use of their new powers, so he poses as Mr. Mentor, a traveling magician in a Winnebago motor home who becomes their new legal guardian! But, they face their greatest challenge in a mad scientist named Dr. Thaddeus Bodog Sivana, who happens to be Billy's manipulative uncle!

Episode Four: Black Adam and the Secrets of Isis

On the WB reality series "The Starlet," Michelynne McGuire won her chance for a contract with Warner Brothers and a role on the series "One Tree Hill!" But, Michelynne will have to bypass that until she faces her toughest assignment: DC Animated voice over work, as she gets her chance to voice Isis, a character that hasn't been seen in animation in twenty five years! And, when the Batson Twins find themselves and Mentor on a trip with an archaeologist named Dr. Andrea Thomas (Diane Pershing) and her 18-year-old daughter, Angelina, they find a mystical Egyptian amulet! And when Angelina retrieves the amulet, she finds herself becoming Isis a superpowered goddess with amazing powers! But Captain Marvel and Isis have another problem: An evil terrorist by the name of Black Adam (Oded Fehr), with the same powers as Captain Marvel, is looking to use the new Isis for his own evil ends against our hero in this exciting adventure!

Episode Five: The Luthor Gambit

Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) is in Fawcett City looking to purchase Fawcett Communications in an attempt to use the company as a tool for his political agenda against Superman and the Justice League! But first, he's got to bring in Fawcett City's newest hero, Captain Marvel, and covince him to take out Superman in this follow-up to the upcoming JLU ep "The Clash" in this series!

The Justice League was great before it went "unlimited." Too many characters drifted attention away from focus on key characters, their development and audience embracement. I mean can't 1000 superheroes just put the villains to rest? They are just too many. I am not watching anymore. My fave episodes were the ones were Batman's relationship with Superman and Wonder Woman were highlighted. They should just do a Trinity Cartoon or go back to the seven main ones. I am sure they could write awesome stories between Wonder Woman and Batman facing off against the Joker and even Wondie's mythological background. The possibilities are huge!

I couldn't agree with you more Aethea. It is because of Cartoon Network's stupid and asinine 52-episode rule that Justice League could not be continued with the original seven members. In my opinion, the producers of Justice League should have never split the episodes of JL into two parts and just did 52 one-hour episodes proper, preferably without the commercials!

Anyway, they should have just done a Wonder Woman series after the Superman series ended, that would have set the stage for Justice League later on. That would be the idea I would have presented to them in 1998.

Kenny.

Segment 17: GLC: The Animated Series
(A brand-new series about the Green Lantern Corps)

Voice Cast:

Hal Jordan/Green Lantern I: Richard Dean Anderson
Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern II: Jason Marsden
John Stewart/Green Lantern III: Phil Lamarr
Guy Gardner: Henry Rollins
Kilowog: Dennis Haysbert
Katma Tui: Kim Mai Guest
Jennie-Lynn Hayden/Jade: Meghan Black
Sinestro: Powers Boothe
Star Sapphire: Olivia D'Abo

(Note: There is a Green Lantern Animated Series fanfic being done at DCUAnimated. This is its modern-day update on the original created exclusively for Superhero Hype!)

Episode One: Hal Jordan: Emerald Knight

This first episode centers on the very first modern Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. He is an Air Force test pilot with a cushy job at Ferris Aircraft and a sexy girlfriend in Carol Ferris to boot! But, Hal's life is about to change when he is mysteriously summoned to a damaged spacecraft by a Green Lantern named Abin Sur, who grants him the use of an amazing ring giving him the power to become Earth's first Green Lantern! Plus, witness the first meeting between Jordan and a ten-year-old Kyle Rayner at an air show in this episode!

Episode Two: Kyle Rayner: In Brightest Day

This is the Director's Cut rebroadcast of the Superman animated series episode with Kyle as GL. Superman (George Newburn) guest stars as it is ten years later, and Kyle comes into possession of the Lantern ring. But, a power-mad ex-Green Lantern named Sinestro arrives on Eartn to search for the Central Power Battery, and the new GL and Superman must stop him at all costs!

Episode Three: John Stewart: In Blackest Night

In this Director's Cut rebroadcast of the Justice League episode of the same name, as the League must find a way to help John Stewart, the current GL, clear his name on a trumped-up charge of destroying a whole planet set up by the Manhunters, who are looking to overthrow the Guardians of Oa!

Episode Four: Katma Tui/Jennie Lynn Hayden: Sapphire and Jade!

This original episode features Katma Tui, as she takes in a young female Green Lantern neophyte named Jade for training on Oa. But, Kat and Jennie-Lynn find themselves tangling with the crazed Star Sapphire, who is looking to acquire a rare sapphire gem for use in a powerful rail gun, unless the two of them can stop her on Earth!

Episode Five: Kilowog: The Lantern and the Starlet

Flash (Michael Rosenbaum) guest stars, along with Vivica A. Fox, casting director Joseph Middleton and legendary actress Faye Dunaway as the latter three lend their voices to this episode where during a battle with Sinestro on Earth, Flash and Kilowog end up right in the middle of the events of the WB reality series "The Starlet" in Hollywood! Worse yet, our two heroes find themselves going ga-ga over some of the potential starlets in the middle of the screen test for Garnier Fructis shampoo! But, when Sinestro kidnaps the girls and traps them inside one of his evil constructs, it is Faye Dunaway to the damn rescue as she joins Kilowog and the Scarlet Speedster in rescuing the contestants and giving Sinestro the old "Don't call us, we'll call you" speech as the villain's ass is handed to him in this hilarious episode

Don't wanna get off topic, but what was the name of the movie that aired on Cartoon Network a while back w/Catwoman & Batman?

Nightwing and Batgirl (Tara Strong) guest stars in this special Justice League Unlimited/Young Justice spinoff which finds Dick and Barbara meeting with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to discuss turning the former Gateway Academy (devastated in the final episode of Young Justice TAS) into a brand-new underground training facility connected to the Tower of Justice, and also the formation of a brand-new version of YJ called Young Justice Unlimited, where a brand-new batch of teen heroes will be trained under Nightwing, Batgirl, and the former YJers - now called the Titans! Guess where Supergirl's gonna be booted to next by the League!

there was a young justice animated series?

The Balance in Unlimited was/is awesome. I love How Diana goes into Tartarus! She kicks butt--and her magic lasso is repowered by Hoppolita!

I did a Young Justice animated series fanfic at the Hype that lasted 169 episodes. This is its spinoff in the DC Animated Showcase fanfic. :ff:

oh. damn you for giving me hope. but seriously, sounds cool. you got a website where i could read it?

Hold up , what is this exactly??
are you making your own animation?? you have drawing skill?? software? sounds interesting but could you explain what you are doing exactly?

Attention Hypesters:

Now that my computer's somehow working. I will be back to doing the Showcase real soon with Aquaman's five-episode treatment. But first, a new series is going to be spun-off the Showcase in August...

Nightwing: the Animated Series

Oh Yeah! The last Nightwing series was a bust, but a fresh new series featuring Dick Grayson is on the way, with a fresh new and dangerous rogues gallery to boot. From the same art team who gave you Justice League! The fun starts August 1st!

Kenny.

Segment 18: Aquaman
(the King of the Seas in his first animated series in more than forty years!)

Voice Cast:

King Aquaman: Scott Rummell
Queen Mera: Kristin Bauer
Prince Garth of Poseidonis/Tempest: Will Wheaton
Black Manta: Michael Jai White

Episode One: A Fish Story - Director's Cut

This first episode of Aquaman is an hour-long Director's Cut edition of the Superman TAS episode in which Lois Lane (Dana Delany) discovers and is rescued by a young Aquaman, whose kingdom of Atlantis is about to be threatened by Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown).

Episode Two: The Enemy Below - Director's Cut

This third episode of Justice League is about to get the Director's Cut treatment as a full-length, commercial free, hour-long adventure with more action added on as an Aquaman episode with the Justice League helping the King of Seas deal with a plot to kill him being orchestrated by his vile brother Orm.

Episode Three: Manta and Moray

This episode is a tribute to a long-forgotten Filmation series from the 70's that is now being given the DC Animated Universe treatment. When Aquaman is on patrol near his Atlantean home, he discovers a beautiful humanoid eel named Moray (Eva Longoria) who is being hunted down by Aquaman's arch-nemesis Black Manta, who wants to use her to ruin the plans of an environmental task force that is helping the King of the Seas deal with a ruthless corporate bigwig looking to dump toxic waste into the Mediterranean Sea!

Episode Four: A Whale Named Moby

Prince Garth is in Atlantis visiting his uncle Aquaman when he meets a beautiful mermaid named Tula (Rachel Bilson) and her brothers, Tom and Tubb, who also discover a mysterious genetically-engineered white whale who possesses unheard-of superhuman strength! Folks, we've got a live one here, as we witness the return of a long-forgotten Hanna-Barbera animal superhero, as Moby Dick makes its appearance in a DC Animated series to help Tempest and the new Aquagirl deal with a group of undersea pirates who are looking to attack Atlantis' capital city in this whale of an adventure!

Episode Five: Aquaman and the Sea Witch

There's something amiss in the Seven Seas when Aquaman starts getting his freak on with a beautiful woman named Vassa (Marina Sirtis) at the royal palace while his wife Mera is away in Poseidonis visiting her sister and family. But, this is no ordinary mermaid the king is messing with, for this is none other than the evil Sorceress of the Seven Seas, who has bewitched him into turning over the Atlantean throne over to her! And it may be up to a returning Mera to deal with her bewitching new rival for her husband's affections in this sexy little undersea tale!
