NEW full TRAILER!!!

Well, someone needs to, and since you are alone... so very, very, very alone... in your wrongness regarding this film... you can put words in my mouth just this once.

It's like a freebie to you for being on the losing side. lol

Yeah, rogue trooper is on the losing side. His side are not getting the movie they want.

Oh, wait a minute...

Dammit!

Sin City 2 looks pretty good..........wait, this is supposed to be The Spirit?

...if you mean a film that, like Tim Burton's Batman and Bryan Singer's X-Men, is faithful to the basic core of the comic while appropriately updating it, yes, so far it looks like I'm getting the film I want.

Whose sock is superherofanboy? lol

I already have my spidey sense tingling that Rogue Trooper is someone else on here who has the same exact opinions and uses the same exact typos. :oldrazz:

Attack of the Clones!

..aren't you the same robot who keeps repeating the same boring typo of "Miller is a hack"? Yes. I thought so.:oldrazz:

What does that have to do with people posting with socks to sound like there are more who think like them/you?

Did I touch a sensitive nerve?

Besides, I've actually been objective, and given credit where it's due when something has been presented to me that isn't from 'my side's' point of view...

Unlike certain unnamed parties who I'm responding to who sound like they were programmed at Miller's equivelant to a Hitler Youth Camp. :oldrazz:

Besides, I always spell 'Miller is a Hack' correctly.

Epic Fail.

Now, I will just wait patiently for one of the two suspects to accuse me of "character assasination"... once again spelling 'assassination' wrong. :lmao:

Whoa!! Touche!!:woot: In contemplating so much time with your post, I guess I should ask; did I touch a nerve?:cwink:

Yeah, The Spirit movie should look like Dick Tracy. It should have bright primary colors. A bright blue suit. It should be funny and whimsical. Not this dark, shadowy Noir.

....just so you know, Will Eisner considered Dick Tracy a failure because it tried to be like the comics "too much" and came off as an irrevelant film. Too retro. I don't think he would have preffered The Spirit to go that route. The 1987 Spirit movie pilot tried that and that went nowhere.

EDIT

Oh, I see what you meant.:o LOL! It was a slow morning.:woot:

Just for your information theMan-Bat ......creating a new name to bolster the numbers on your side of a debate is called trolling. It is not a very smart thing to do.

Hey C. Lee...What about the good old Zig-Zag man? I'm on trooper's side as well!:woot:

I'm a detective. :wow:

Anyhow...
The more I watch the trailer, the more it seems like it's going to be a semi-narrative... with Lorelei sort of playing the Crypt Keeper... just not as a haggard, rotting mess.

The way she's being described as a spirit... and how she seems to keep showing up throughout the film, according to the cast & crew... it's almost as though she is The Spirit, in a manner of speaking, in this film.

It's like having a nearly naked, smoking hot,cheap-plastic-gem covered Uatu, The Watcher narrating the film.

Oh, and Rogue Trooper, to answer your question... which was actually my question, but you had no retort...

I have no problem saying this, because C. Lee can verify it... no, you have not touched a nerve... however, you so obviously want the attention of anyone who posts in here, and since your gift for chasing everyone who posts in here (myself included) around, doing the equivelant of chat room leg humping has screamed (like Miller's city...) for attention...

I was just giving you the negative attention you seemed to want.

And the response has consistently included the phrases "Listen you!" and "character assasination" (both seperate accounts spelling it wrong in the exact same way) from both you and theManBat, albeit months apart... hmmm...

You do line by line quotes of everyone's posts (just like theManBat... hmmm), adding no objective conversation, but rather insisting upon reminding us all that unless our opinion is your opinion, it is a wrong opinion.

I never came in here looking for Rogue Trooper or Clone Trooper or whoever else... I came in here to have opinionated discussions with other people about what used to be called Will Eisner's The Spirit (the official site doesn't even refer to it as that, anymore...) and just like Mego Joe, and several others who used to have a "Conversation" (look it up), I was, instead haunted every single post by the same exact line by line evaluation of my opinion, with the depth of response always being "no, no, no, no you're wrong because I'm right! Miller never makes mistakes!".

Long story short, I was attending a dinner party and somehow ended up sitting in the nursery with the twins. After awhile, the only thing happening was toys being tossed around the room and lots of crying, so I applied the old adage, "When in Romper Room..."

I wish it were as easy as 'ignoring' all of you (however many that may actually be), but since you insist on quoting anyone who doesn't share your view that Miller died on a cross for all of our sins, and then proceeding to misuse every line your 'opposition' posts in completely inappropriate ways, it seems more likely that you should be ignoring all other users... especially since the only posts on here that you actually enjoy are your own.

Hey C. Lee...What about the good old Zig-Zag man? I'm on trooper's side as well!:woot:

What about you?

I did an IP check....and superherofanboy is also theMan-Bat and theBat-Man.

...these things you are accusing me of, IDDP, like "wanting attention" and "wanting to make my opinion be other's as well", are things you ought to say to your reflexion in the mirror, my friend.

I always try and have reasonable, opinionated discussions or debates with everyone, even you. But recently, as soon as I state the reasons why I'm liking this film or when I complement Frank Miller, you immediately want to start a "Hannity & Colmes" crossfire, even when I'm not debating with you.

Oh, and that time, I had every right to complain. Wether you intdended it or not, you were painting me in a very unfair and untrue way, since I have nothing but respect and admiration for Will Eisner.

If you call down the thunder, you will get it.

So, The Spirit....

I just want to talk about the Spirit. :csad:

This forum is like a pulp story unto itself. :woot:

Murder mystery dinner theatre.

Without the food. :oldrazz:

You do know how many times I've used the words, "I Agree" regarding things you've said, right?

Geez... I've even gone out of my way to defend your opinion in the Punisher WarZone forum... where they eat babies if they don't like you! They hate everything in there... and I still backed you up.

And, I referred to it as 'leg humping', but if you think 'thunder' sounds like a better approach, fine by me. Semantics. :oldrazz:

I quite honestly haven't noticed you that much at the PWZ forums, and I'm not suggesting that you haven't, I just honestly haven't. Fortunately, most posters are now finding the film more to their liking thanks to the new trailers.:yay:

I rarely post there. They are everything you picture me as being regarding the Spirit. :oldrazz:

When everyone was going ape over the nu-metal soundtrack used in the SDCC footage, I jumped in after you.

Good lord... they gripe about everything.

At least they are getting a film that actually resembles the characters they love. :lmao:

Sorry.

Couldn't help it...

...well, The Punisher doesn't wear a braceneck-like collar in the comics but it looks cool on him nonetheless.

....oh, right, The Spirit...

I'd like to apologies to you fellas if I deceived or offended any of you by creating that silly new name this morning for those sarcastic posts. I didn't mean any harm. And yes, I was just being sarcastic. It was not meant to be taken seriously. My intent wasn't to bolster the numbers on my side really I was just in a sarcastic silly mood this morning is all. Great replys rogue trooper. Good detecting IDrawDeadPeople.

Oh, it's alright.

You're fine by me. You had just spent the day before talking about Jack Nicholson in Mars Attacks, and you probably just got fired up to be the President AND the casino owner. :oldrazz:

Anyhow, is Lorelei sorta The Spirit in this...? As in, is she the mouthpiece character who kinda observes everything? I don't expect her to be hollering "Pull the string!" or anything like that... but it's becoming apparent that she has a sort of narrator/Uatu the Watcher role in this, and she is described as a "spirit" who shows up over and over again throughout the film?

So, in Miller's mind, is she The Spirit...? And, I don't mean she's replacing Denny in terms of significance... I just mean in an artistic way, we find out that she is the ever present (I can't think of a better word) "force" that is overseeing the events in this film?

This could be possible...So this means that The Spirit can draw, I mean see dead people/spirits or something...Why would this be necessary to the story...

Well, Jamie King said, "Lorelei is essentially an angel of death for the Spirit. The Spirit has been very close to death. And she has an extreme love and infatuation for him. And the wonderful thing is she is this kind of mystery character that is woven though out the film. Every time he gets knocked out she beckons him to come to her."

So, in essence, she's the R2D2 of this film? :lmao:

George Lucas once said that R2 was the silent narrator of the film... that while he isn't the focus of the story, you basically follow the story by following R2...

So, we get to 'see' Denny's experience by having 'chapter breaks' with Lorelei...

Sort of...
