This is a very gray area, but the Academy does not consider motion capture to be an animation technique (I presume it's because there are actually actors involved in the creation of the character motion). The thing is that with Avatar, motion capture was certainly used to animate the 3D models, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't some sort of other animation involved in the film.

the problem is that noone on the internet knows the title. with the theatrical trailer we had to whait that Kara Kul was reaelsed. but we at least had the name. here we have nothing.
