New Joe Fridays: WEEK 100!

His ID is out? I didn't think it was. O.o

And hopefully, he just doesn't find his gf in his bed with another guy, ala Jade/Kyle style.

I have no doubt Joe is a "nice", fun guy. In fact I believe he is so much so, that is part of the reason why deadlines have become optional at his camp. He's too "nice" to lower the hammer on someone tardy all the time. I mean just because at times I feel his statements seem hypocritical, or ignorant, or he misjudges the intelligence of the fan community when they call him on something, doesn't mean I believe he is some terrible, horrible person. I'm not that kind of fanatic.

Sure fooled me.:o

Yes, Gravity's identity was posted on his tombestone when he was given a hero's burrial at the end of BEYOND! #6, so his identity is out. He was told as much the last issue of FF. That naturally can't be good once the feds find out he is alive and come packing. Of course, in his original series he wanted to sort of market himself, so that could help if he plays along.

Hopefully he doesn't find his GF in a fridge like Kyle, too. :wow: Dang, DC has set the standard for gorey heroine mutilations for a while, haven't they? I guess when you need decades to live down Bat-Mite's and Superman spinning through time and all that...

Damn. x.x

And I already stated what I meant by Jade/Kyle... O.o Though I hope that doesn't happen either.

Beyond! was such a good little miniseries too. It's really a shame that nothing has come from it.

Well, it got Deathlok back I guess. Although he is "cured" as Micheal Collins in FF and Deathlok is due to appear in NA or MA at some point. How much we want to bet Bendis completely ignores anything McDuffie has done with him? I say the odds are 50/50.

In a way it isn't McDuffie's fault that Marvel's editorial board changed it's mind after he did his part with Gravity in BEYOND! I enjoyed it, but like you said, little has come of it. No one has bothered to use the "Dr. Pym" power level, or do much with his fling with Firebird; Bendis had him basically have a fling with Tigra, which will be the one Marvel acknowledges. Pym was hesitant about kissing Firebird, while rearing to go on Tigra; the two don't gell well together so Marvel will pick one as the forefront, and guess which. The only way it could possible make sense would be Pym was hesitant to perhaps have "empty sex" with Firebird as she is a devoted Catholic, while Tigra has always pretty much been a "more open" woman who wouldn't mind that stuff at all (I mean she even would throw herself at Jarvis for chrissakes). But, yeah, the pattern goes, anything Bendis does is supported down the line, but Bendis picks and chooses the work of others that he supports. He wants to use The Hood, but will he mention Hood being at worst an anti-hero in BEYOND! Again, 50/50, based on past experience. I could see Bendis throwing in a line of, "that was just survival, baby" or something like that, and he noted he may use the demonic cloak thing as a dues ex machina.

Still, I liked BEYOND! so it was worth it. I mean SPIDER-MAN & THE FANTASTIC FOUR from Parker & 'Ringo doesn't matter worth a poop in terms of continuity right now, but I am enjoying the heck out of it.
