For example, if it turns out he was full of balony the whole time about wanting to end the Spidey marriage, that would be great. Makes it all the more surprising if "One More Day" turns out to be something different entirely, like the death of Aunt May or something.

How in the world can Quesada say "Civil War was designed to return our characters back to an earlier mindframe, negating their 'natural progression' that only time and effort has created" in one breath, and then say "DC characters are inferior to Marvel's because they aren't ever allowed to evolve" in the other??

Yeah, 'cause goddamn "No more mutants" wasn't like that at all, was it? Or you going on and on about how Spider-Man needs to revert to his younger persona in order to be relatable? And the entire concept of the Ultimate universe was just one giant reset button!

Seriously, how can he even say these things with a straight face? The scale of double-standards that he's presenting is off the frikkin' charts.

In full agreement. Joe Q's almost a master at "doublespeak". To him, moving backwards is moving forwards sometimes. Decimation was a big time example of that, and now he wants a Marvel where everyone can legitly punch each other out again. Sweet Christmas.

Meh. I'd rather have people in charge of my comics say something and mean it as opposed to baiting people all the time. I don't care that much about what happened to Speedball -- if you really listened to what Quesada said about him, it's obvious that it was just one big running gag -- but he's just one example out of many.

And do we really wanna go down the "Didio and Quesada are the same!" road again? 'Cause, no, they're really not.

To me it's irrelevent whether "Dan DiDio" does "_____" to or not. Marvel & DC can both do some good stuff and some bad stuff. What one does, doesn't justify the other. "DC does it too" is not a justification for Marvel's misfires, but an excuse. That's just my opinion.

Well the whole point is to not bring it up as an excuse, I don't excuse crappiness. The point is that there are certain posters here who have been jaded by marvel recently and have jumped on the DC pwns marvel bandwagon and will priase everything DC (even the bad stuff) and just bash Marvel for everything it does ( the same things they praise or just plain ignore from DC).

I see. Yeah, both sides have been ****ing out the varient covers. Sure, Joe & Dan joke and say, "least no one's doing holograms again", but I'm just waiting for someone to try it again...and then for Wizard to gush about it.

DC & Marvel are very much alike. Just as this is a Marvel forum, there'll likely be more criticism of the latter. I mean I read very little of DC so thus whatever criticisms I have usually stay in the B/T thread. I blame DC for the decent into "over darkness" with Identity Crisis and so on 2 years ago. They were mutilating, killing, and raping beloved C-Listers for sales before Marvel hopped on that bandwagon. And the irony is that Marvel may have beat them out had "The Evil that Men Do" shipped on time (as that propelled Black Cat by revealing she was, sigh, raped). DC's handling of the end of IC with the "real" ending in the TPB is a slap in the face of monthly fans, the ones who actually propelled DC to top Marvel for 1 month this year (it was during the end of IC).
