Even though it's only a cover, and a tiny headshot, Chueng even draws a good Stingray. Now THERE is another character, along with Justice, who needs a fresh take and to be written well. He has a great design, good power level, a rich history, good codename (considering some names based on fish range from cool to lame) and is yet another Marvel brainiac. He needs to do more besides sit in his lab studying fish.

Maybe in the next Namor series...

I'm aware that some writers cater to the strengths of their artists (although Bendis has been more than willing to have Bagley, Finch, Cheung, McNiven, McKone, et al draw pages and pages and pages of just two people in a room talking endlessly while dialogue balloons swallow the panel whole), but this is ridiculous.

WIZARD will love it, though, and it'll sell well. I'm doubtful I am game for a second Bendis Avenger title as I keep finding excuses to keep buying the first one, and I keep asking where the hell were these Avenger baddies when NEW AVENGERS was floundering for a year fighting Sauron and ninjas.

As soon as I saw the cover for USM the first thought I had was how awesome it would be to see the Bendis bashing commence over at SHH. As usual, no one disappointed.

Jeph Loeb's Civil War mini sounds intriguing. Very eager to see it.

Good LORD, Scott Kolins wants me to buy Omega Flight. That spread is GORGEOUS.

Sounds like Spiderman loves Mary Jane will continue on. That's great. It's a fantastic all ages book, and I'm very eager to pick up the hardcover.

My goodness, I know I may be touching on a sore subject here, but I think that the argument in the Q&A section about Marvel's gay and lesbian characters being misused is utterly pathetic. Comics aren't meant to be read to promote a character's sexuality; good stories don't revolve around a character being gay or straight. Just in Civil War, the New Warriors were wiped out, Goliath was killed, tons of people have been smashed and thrashed. In Annhilation, Quasar died (along with many others killed by Annhilus). Does anyone write in to berate Marvel about their bad treatement of heterosexual characters?!

Basing an entire series with the 5 stages of Depression as a motif is just sounding like an OD of angst and I am not sure I am in the mood for that. This is the kind of crap GLA would parody.

What next? How about a series based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anon.? I could see Millar writing it, Iron Man starring and it selling 200,000 copies.

Or a series based on the names of the 7 dwarves, that all star Puck?

I'm not saying it won't be good, because Marvel does angst well. I'm just kind of tired of it, especially after Emoball. The angst mill has been all but exhausted for the past 10 years methinks. There's more to life than hating it, at least I hope. 'Cause lord knows I do.

However, LONERS and Dan Slott's series can't come fast enough. And OMEGA FLIGHT is looking awesome.

I don't really think it will be that emo. I mean one stage is anger, acceptance. Whats so emo about anger and acceptance? I mean, I know its fun to bash Civil War and have heaps of posters agreeing with your long ass posts, but I dont see an issue surrounding Wolverine and Denial being angst filled.

I mean, I know what Dread is saying, but he reads Runaways every month or so and that comic is full of angst (do not deny it), and he only has good things to say about that comic.

It could be Tony though. Peter would be depressed about turning his back on him and him dying in battle would serve to that extent. Though, I doubt Tony dies, unless he fakes his death again or something.

Yeah, but when did angst become a bad word? Oh yeah, when it was replaced with emo. Angst pretty much created the Marvel age of comics. Peter's angst made him the hero we could all associate ourselves with.
