New Joe Q - Week 32

War Machine
YellowJacket
Justice

That looks like the beginning of a great team.

Good luck on calling JQ on anything, Specter313. I imagine he'll respond just as Darth did and have some justification. "I'm only the EIC, I can't be expected to remember what I say or watch what I say for reactive consequences, while at the same time bragging about how I lead fans on with my carefully worded digs".

I'm not justifying jack ****. I'm just saying, every little thing Joey Q says doesn't have some dark, sinister plan behind it. I know its hard to grasp, but maybe he just forgot, or maybe they changed their plans for her. WOW! Impossible. Thats all I'm saying. I mean, there are far more important things in my eyes to be *****ign about out of Marvel then him lying about a character getting powers that hasn't been relevant in years. Maybe they should do what they did what they did with Speedball with jubilee, I bet that would be swell.

Especially since technically, Hank Pym and Justice have served as Avengers together before.

The art looks good, there is a tiny bit of me that hoped for a great Justice redesign, but I admit it may be a pipe dream, and I can accept it so long as Justice is handled well and given a chance to shine and get hype again. I mean he's a good, 20 year old character who needs to find a way to shine despite a rather generic name, power, and costume design. Slott is good for stuff like that, though, so I am expecting good things from this mini. Same with OMEGA FLIGHT and however many issues of ANT-MAN and IRON FIST we get.

I do wonder, if Justice was in the Secret Avengers in CIVIL WAR, why is he working with obvious Pro SHRA heroes like War Machine and Yellowjacket now? Hmmm...

I was trying to say that your opinion did have some justification; Joe Q may not recall what he said 3+ months ago to the letter and things could have changed. Meetings and whatnot to determine what to do with her. And yeah, Jubilee has been a C-Lister for years; she had a mini from Kirkman around 2004 that tanked worse than MTU did and as you said, really hasn't been popular since the cartoon ended in 1997-1998. Heck, she was annoying even then and sat out many, many episodes after Season 1.

And you are right, there are more things to harp on Joe about I guess. I was just noting that him saying that Marvel doesn't seem to be out to "repower" any depowered mutant worth a crap is a bit misleading at best since a handful of the few A & B listers who were actually effected were repowered within a short time (Iceman almost immediately, then Polaris, Quicksilver, Magneto). Thus, it seems that a writer is free to repower any mutant they feel like they should, which makes Decimation look toothless. But, the less spoken about that, the better.

Trust me, none of what you said was lost on me. The only reason I'm being picky about this is not because he said he'd repower her and then turned around and changed it, but because he was saying she was supposed to be one of the "top characters to watch" this year and stuff that made it sound like she was a big priority to him. I'd have thought that as much as he built her up in past things, he'd remember this. The way he was talking about her is almost on the level of how he'd been pushing Speedball in past NJF's, so that's why I'm surprised he's backtracking.

Marvels 2 in '08? Goddamn...

I'm a bit wary of sequals to quintessential stories after a good decade or more. I mean, DK2 sucked rear through a straw. Now THERE was a comic that made Ultimate Clone Saga look like God writing to Moses. And I hear DC actually paid Miller a cool million for that garbage. So, I'm not exactling drooling over it. Marvel had one or two painted mini's that tried to steal some thunder from MARVELS that never took.

Just let it stand on it's own.

Yeah, I got you. Jubilee is so going to die. I'll buy 3 issues!:oldrazz:

Can I ask you a question? In your life, do yuo remember every single damn thing in your life from 3 months ago? I mean, its Jubilee, thats the equivalent of Doc asking me what time I made toast on November 5th.

Well, what time was it? ANSWER ME!

Well maybe he pulls a Stature or the opposite of a Spidey, and decided, "you know what Registration is a good thing", thats really the only explination that can be given, and there wouldn't be to much *****ing about it.

Who could finish that team if there was 7-8 members?

She-Hulk and Doc Samson would fit very well into that team, who else would fit, maybe Tigra?

Dan Slott is making some original characters so I wouldn't be surprised if they round out the roster, like his new Gauntlet guy.

It seems like it would put Justice at odds with Rage, who was seemingly captured by the Pro-Reg's and wasn't about to let the New Warrior legacy end as it has. Firestar retired, I wonder if he's going to look into her again, even though they abruptly ended their engagement in Feb. 2006. Anyway, if Slott could literally write Mr. Immortal so well I declared him my "Hero of 2005", then Justice is in capable hands.

Oh, c'mon! There were quite a few Sentinals, including one who popped up in MYSTIQUE some years back, who looked like they walked right out of EVANGELION. Big name anime's are going to be imitated in artists regardless. I did notice War Machine looking a little anime-mech-ish, but that's been fairly common for the past 5 years. Anime's mainstream; I mean that is all CARTOON NETWORK really cares about and promotes nowadays. Manga more or less INVENTED how to draw modern, sometimes over-detailed robots and armor. It's no surprise that these styles are being imitated, especially by artists who cropped up after 1995 or so.

OMG! I've seen the light! I'll actually listen to someone else (Dread) and not hold on to a stupid grudge!:D
