The Dark Knight New Joker Message!!! (WSS/It's All Part of the Plan)

You have a lot more faith in people in large crowds than I do. Unfortunately I have spent far to many years in sales and security to share your optimistic outlook. Then there is the problem of too few locations. Sure, they can add more, kind of like they did with the Cake phone challenge, but then the cities we have right now (and the politicians associated) mean nothing so there is no point in speculating. Then there also is the issue of repetition, have they ever done the same thing twice? No, not really. This won't be a run to the location, it will be something more.

Both scavenger hunts started with a count down and one had a list of cities.

If you think there is no point in speculating then depress the power button on your monitor.

I think I just found out what this is all about. If you look under each president there is a city. If you google that state/city with the president's name, you get a HOSPITAL! Seeing how the joker loves to mess around with hospitals, this makes the most sense ;)
Sweet Theroy. I hope it pans out.

Page expiration has nothing to do with the page changing. This has been brought up before. It's just in regards to how browser caching is handled.

i'm thinking with this one, there's one more clue past the obvious ones. It will probably not help anything about the actual "day of" event, but it will help push along the connection between the Gordon game and the Joker game. They are combining the two games, so we need to figure out what the Joker is after...He caused the Gordon game, so we should ask why.

That theory has come up every single time a big part of the viral is going on. Never has it ever been true. It will be brought up several more times before the 3 days are done. Be ready.

Exactly, one had a list of cities. They were not the same.

As for speculating, that too is my point. I'm saying we need to get out of the rut and instead of looking at it from the point of what happened before, look at what COULD happen now. Each countdown lead to something, yes. Each time that something was a little different. However, each time it has been bigger. This list is MUCH smaller so it does not at all fit in as a possible "hunt for a prize package" ala cake/bowling ball. Instead, I think that the general basis of Thesushi's ideas are interesting. Something like small teams might need to find us a name or image out there in the cities, but the bulk of the work will be online detective work.

The only things I can be certain of right now are that any games have to have a fresh angle and include as many as possible. They need to be fresh to stay interesting, exciting, and keep the word of mouth flowing. They need to involve a whole lot more than 12 cities, because never forget that this is a giant commercial more than anything else. You never reduce your exposure. If you did, you might as well call it quits. This is something more than a simple repeat hunt, but what it is, we certainly cannot determine if we're just assuming it's the same thing from the get go.

I'm not stating that there is no point in speculating. HUM469 said there was no point in speculating. And basically thats all were doing here. Actually reading what people write can do away with many misunderstandings.

Hmm, aren't there airports with the same last name as each of those featured?
maybe that's how it ties in with the Kinsly Travel Site? with each of those also being featured on money...

Money, airports and travel...
think of the Operation Slipknot packages...
they had bonds (money), plane tickets (airport) and travel (the foriegn language dictionaries)

I'm not saying the airports are where things with happen, but maybe they or the city their in, tie in with the cities on those lists?

Do any of those airports have flights to the cities listed below their corresponding pictures?

I'm off to google :)

My response:

i'm just saying the lack of cities begs the question of how extensive our participation would be, didn't mean to get graowly. :)

I agree, and my own opinion about the why is that the Joker is taking down the mob and GPD. You see it all the time in real life, if you have ever read any stories about criminal sindicates. The newcomer will pose as and/or infiltrate one of two main powers, for the purpose of helping kick off a turf war. The war rages, henchmen die, get arrested, whatever. Then when the dust settles, the newcomer picks up the pieces and steps into the power vacuum. In the Gordon game we saw the Joker expose the mob's inside men, send them into disarray with some on the run, and weaken them. On the police side, his henchmen (that's us) helped to shrink the force by a good margin, cast suspision amongst others, and gain access to sensitive information. Don't forget that there is a level of trust starting to occur with Gordon. The only thing still holding the mob together is the fact that they still have money. The only thing still holding the law together is that the people are gaining some faith in their (Gordon, Dent, et al.) ability to crack down on corruption, teamed with Batman's ability to help out.

What will Joker do next? Well we know he won't take on the Batman component right now (that's for the movie). The police can still be a thorn in his side so long as the people still have any faith in them at all. The mob is weak, but still a potential threat if they ever catch wise to the Joker's involvement in all this. I like the money connection because if the Joker steals from the mob more, he further hastens the mob's demise in it's current form. If he can make a major heist look like the mob was responsible, it makes the police look like they are still as incapable as ever, weakening the people's faith. I liked the idea Thesushi proposed earlier, that we will help rob world financial centers THROUGH GNB. This implicates the mob as alive and well despite recent busts, brings more heat down on the mob, and gives the Joker more resources to further all future endevours. This is my pet theory at least, and I know it does not give us much of an idea of WHAT it is we will be doing on Monday, but at least it fits with the evidence so far. I am excited about Monday, no matter what comes though.

You could be right. It could be something entirely new, different and unknown. But then again it could be another scavenger hunt. Even if you guess perfectly what will happen come Monday. It will still be speculation until it actually happens. Giving more weight to one theory versus another theory makes no sense for we all have no idea what could happen. BUT being prepared for as many outcomes as possible IS an option. So naturally the theory that this is something we have never done before and have no clue what could happen next is not very helpful.

If there is a right answer in all this, thesushi is much more likely on to it. The very limited nature of the locations seems to suggest that they are clues rather than places we need to be at. Maybe someone will need to get a picture from some general area, but this will be something we have to piece together come Monday, if we don't already have a decent link to run with.

I'm not stating that there is no point in speculating. HUM469 said there was no point in speculating. And basically thats all were doing here. Actually reading what people write can do away with many misunderstandings.

My response:

You have to take things in context. I wasn't saying that there is no point in speculating at all. I said IF it was a case where they are just going to add more cities (like the cake hunt), THEN there would be no point in speculating because we have no clues that mean anything.

Instead, I think it is worth looking at new possiblities and new potentials rather than assuming their just doing a repeat. Speculate away, by all means, but don't assume anything to be true until the 3 day counter reaches 0.

i'm just saying the lack of cities begs the question of how extensive our participation would be, didn't mean to get graowly. :)

Massive participation has not always been the #1 priority of the past Joker virals. People putting a spin on what I say tends to make me graowly. :yay:

Makes sense. The Joker always keeps his cards close.

Now, back to the question at hand... Is there another code hidden in the picture? I tried presidents by numbers to code, by their first and last names in a vain base 64 attempt, and by poking my finger at it.

suggestions?

So only if more cities are added there is no point in speculating? That makes no sense.

But these do make sense:

If it rains tomorrow there is no point in speculating.

If the site changes in any way there is no point in speculating.

If Harvey Dent's site has an update tonight there is no point in speculating.

I trip on my tongue all the time. Better to admit it and move on than sink with the ship. :woot:

Anyone know what time it switched to "Three days"?

I am hoping it isn't starting right away monday- I could use a later game in the day due to work...

enough with the arguments on speculating lol
if you want to speculate, then do so... if you don't then... don't.. haha
I speculate but I have a feeling it won't really matter much after the 3 days are up, either way it's something for me to do ;)

Unfortunately for you and me both it switched over at 2PM EST, or 11AM PST (my time). If that's when the actual event goes down it looks like those of us with jobs will be playing Oracle and giving help from the sidelines.

Unless Animal hospitals are included in the "hospital" definition, there are no major hospitals in or near Toronto with the name Kennedy. Even then, the animal hospitals are simply on Kennedy road, and not actually called "Kennedy", which sort of offputs the hospital-in-every-city theory.
