New theoy on the symbol!

Well there is a new theory on the symbol that my step had that he thought it was an Ogham (druidic) symbol but I looked it and he was wrong. But it got me think that the symbol could be a some ancient writing but not sure which ancient writing its. Any ideas or suggestions?

^Yeah, its suppose to resemble that. There is probably some hidden meaning behind the symbol itself, at least in the story and to the various characters.

Why do the men and women have different symbols? Nikki has th^t, but Ted and Matt have the equals sign tattoo. Has the symbol on Nikki been related to anyone else?

I dont think Ted and matt have tatoos at all, they didnt call them tattoos, and why whould Bennet give them tattoos? I think those are just two cuts that Bennet made to incert a tracking devise or some such.

Well, they don't appear to be healing. I think they would have refered to them as injuries if they were such. I don't know that they're specifically "tattoos," but they appear to be permanent markings. Nikki's seems to be a tattoo-type marking, why wouldn't the others be?

"Markings" is a better indicator than tattoo... they can feel them on their necks, these marks are definitely raised, much moreso than a Tatoo anyway...

It obviously resembles an RNA symbol (I forget how RNA is different from DNA exactly, I think RNA is for reproducing DNA, which is done by Sylar at this point, meaning the symbol relates to him more than anyone) but I think it's save to say that there's a storyline reason for it appearing everywhere.

5. in the program that Mohinder leaves running for a whole episode

Its everywhere, sometimes in random places that mean nothing. It would be pretty tough to comeup with a storyline reason to explain all of them.

I still dont think Matt and Ted have Tattoos. I mean why whould Bennet give them Tattoos? Cant he keep track of the people he captures without branding them like cattle? And why would he give Nikki a tattoo of an RNA symbol? Did he even capture Niki? Dont you think she would notice waking up with a Tattoo? Why give her a different marking than Ted and Matt? I think its safe to say that Matt and Teds markings are not related to Niki's tattoos.

Later he said "these things we can do are not normal, we were cut, we were injected..."
Add to that the fact that they look like cuts and I think its safe to say that they are cuts.

The markings on Parkman and Sprague appeared after their encounters with the Haitian.

So far nothing to suggest that the marks are permanent.

Apparently, I haven't been paying nearly enough attention. I must have been doing something during the Ted/Matt scene to miss all that. There's too damn much going on at once!

The only two people we've seen displaying/wearing the symbol are the Haitian who wears it around his neck, and Future Hiro who had it emblazoned on his sword. That's the main reason I think those two are linked.

Niki/Jessica doesn't count as it's not clear she's even aware that the symbol appears on her shoulder when the Jessica persona is dominant.

Do we know if it actually disappears in Nikki-mode, or have we just not seen her shoulder when she (and not Jessica) is onscreen? I need to go back and catch up on all the symbol references. I never noticed most of them; I'm catching all the wrong stuff, like the truck in the first eppy!
