New Thunderbolts?

He killed plenty as Venom, so, yeah, he is.
He tended to not to harm innocents if he could help it, though. There were slips now and then, especially early on, but he dedicated himself to protecting people almost as much as he did to killing Spider-Man. If that mindset is still in place when he gets the symbiote back, he'd be a hell of a lot better for the Thunderbolts than Gargan is. One less psycho to rein in when innocent casualties start piling up.

But that was Brock/Venom's flaw. Gargan as Venom (and the Scorpion for that matter) is a stone-cooled killer with style one minute (Civil War: Choosing Sides), and a vicious psycho, animal-like killer the other (Thunderbolts, Beyond!). Brock/Venom becoming a so-called "Lethal Protector" was a major part of the characters rapid down-fall. Killing off (technically, of course) Gargan/Venom only to bring back "We protect innocents" Brock/Venom would be a major waste. If Brock doesn't return to basics (Kill Spider-Man, screw any bystanders unlucky enough to be in our way), then there was realy no point in taking the symbiote away from Gargan.

I loved it. Finally a fight where a guy with skills shows up against a guy with powers and the realistic thing happens. Take that bullseye you ******!

Overall this was quite the awesome issue. I suggest everyone checking this out.

American Eagle shows that he deserves his own ongoing title. We finally get to some differences between the Gargan Venom and the Brock Venom. It only took someone years to do this.

And Deodato's artwork was just amazing. It's worth the price of admission alone.

I would highly recommend this title to all.

Deffinitely not. Just cause he did one cool thing doesnt mean he deserves an ongoing. Lets save that honor for those that deserve it.

I'd DEFINITELY support an American Eagle mini series or ongoing, especially if it were written by Ellis and he wrote the character the way he did throughout this arc...

"take a swing at a REAL American, and see what happens..."

Wolverine wishes he was HALF as bad-ass. :word:

Whoa, you lost me :(

I'd buy it, but you know nobody else would. People are idiots. They don't like good stuff.

I only wanna read about 1 Native American, and that's Talisman :o

I still can't believe Venom ate SS's arm. Brock-Venom always threatened to eat limbs but damn.

Venom sucks anyway, not much of a difference.

Bah, slap a new adamantium spine on, he'll be right as rain in a year or two.

yeah buddy,.. two in one week,..

first supergirl,.. then Bulleye,..

esp after Nova let the thunderbolts off so easily.

I'd be in line with you.
They did him right,.. from the convo that got him there,.. to the fight and his whooping bulleye.

yes,.. I'd buy the entire run.

Now see,.. this is the result of Marvel taking note of the way Slott tells a story,.. other writers see that it's okay to have some depth and jump rite into it.

HAHAHA!! Dude...chill out. He did a lot more than one cool thing, read the entire storyline first. And, you mean to tell me that sequence between him and Bullseye wasn't freakin' awesome? If that's what you're saying than may the Comic Gods have mercy on your soul.

I've read every issue of Thunderbolts since Hercules attacked. The bullseye/American eagle fight WAS awesome. It was the one cool thing I was referring to.

Stigmata-izing moonstone was semi cool too but I still dont see nearly enough there with the character to warrant an ongoing.

I'll compromise with you and say he deserves to be a full time member of some team that has an ongoing.
He himself however is, to me, not nearly enough to stand alone.

There have been a lot of really crappy and odd characters who had their own series throughout the history of comics. The guy deserves a shot if freakin' Archie comics are still selling, heh. :oldrazz:

As far as I can tell, they are indeed still selling Archie Comics
