New Trailer!

It's more than a cameo. He's a featured guest star in two episodes according to Steven Blum.

Gambit's a popular character, but he has just as many people who don't like him as well. I think guest star is a good way to use him for this show.

Gambit's character is quite different than most of the X-Men, and he and Wolverine have always played off of each other quite well.

I just thought a series with a Wolvie focus would be interested in using a character that has that going for him.

Plus, being that we all know how much Marvel loves to play up the Rogue/Gambit crap, it was kind of odd to see them decide not to use him in a series where Rogue turns dark.

Eh, I guess they're just rehashing the old Evolution stuff. That being, Gambit's character won't be anything near what it's supposed to.

WOW every character behind wolverine were b-listers before the movie, now they are becoming d-listers.....looks cool though but doubt it will last as long as evolution

so characters like Storm, Psylock and Gambit were B-listers b4 the movie, and are now D-listers... what?

i guess they are just trying to raise the profile of some other characters...

personally I feel they should have left the original five out as well as storm.

Give wolvie a young team an dlet the older ones cameo and save special apperances of them altogether in the same ep...

Well it seems that they are trying to push the Astonishing kind of look and connection with the group in the earlier trailers. However you have Iceman, Shadowcat, and probably a few others filling the younger character role.

However November Rain, they already pretty much used that similar scenario with Evolution. And a lot of fans didn't like that most of the X-men were high school teenagers in that series.

While the younger X-Men have their fans, they're largely unknown to the rest of the general public that will be watching this show.

The O5 and the 90's adjectiveless teams are by and far the most well known X-Men in existence.

This show looks good already, I can't wait to when it premieres. :xmen:

Spiral and Mojo! Two of my favorites...I'm happy now!

The challenge of the Gambit cameo's will be having him and his trade mark 'trench look as appealing next to Cyclops and his new trench. Battle of the trenches! :p

Cyclops it gray this is almost as bad as the reasoning why he wasn't in any of the movies

X-Men exectives: "He to close to Cyclops, no, he's to close to Wolverine OH **** IT we don't want him in the movie!"

Cyclops needs to get rid of that freaking jacket, it doesn't do him well. The one thing that i've always loved about the cartoons is that the X-Men have different costums. In the movies they didn't but the bad guys did.

The cartoon looks great. I only have to problems with it (Which are actually pretty major). Number one, Wolverine is the leader. Yes I understand it's so they can bank on the movie... and even though I'm sick of being saturated with a character I can't stand I can deal with it for that reason. Second, Storm is barely in it. This is the thing that kills me. She's one of the most well known characters and is what like the second or third most popular of the X-men?

For this reason I am only half interested in the cartoon. Put in more Storm and Jean and I'd give what little I saw about an A-. I wish for once they could get it right.

X-Men TAS was wonderful and while I realize they are not going to completely remake it, they could definitely get a few pointers from it. Use the same line-up, take out Jubilee, add Collosus, Emma, Nightcrawler and Angel and there you have the essense of the X-men.

Yea but X-Men TAS was just a bunch of comic stories brought to animation. Evolution and this are just different stories all together.

This show could contain recent comic book stories brought to animation. It may not start that way, but it could very well evolve into something of that nature. The Animated Series took liberties as well, especially in its early episodes.

Hate to repeat what others have said before, but:

This show looks really great, I especially like that the Astonishing members are in the group, im really surprised (and glad) that Emma's in there as an X-men. However......Wolverine in charge?!?! Come on! They're not even trying anymore! And the best part about this is that Professor X tells him he has to lead when Cyclops and Storm (leaders of the group for so long) are standing right next to him! But Ill get over it because the good outweighs the bad.

^i agree that was stupid....but the message was from the future, so maybe their was a good reason for it

Who knows? Maybe in that Professor's future, Cyclops lead the team during some catastrophic event and he wasnt a good leader in that situation and he thinks Wolverine would be. IDK really. But they better have a good reason behind it.

Shows in general don't really need to have a point, just as long as they make money.

In the scene, Cyclops is there. Storm is gone for the moment. When Xavier says that, Cyclops tries to leave, but Xavier says he needs to stay.

From the scene and the glimpse of the future, we do know it is Xavier and its not a trick. However, time travel things are always tricky. So how do we know that by trying to prevent this future that Xavier is only causing it to happen by having Wolverine lead the team? Hopefully something will reveal why Wolverine is the one that has to lead.

We already know why Wolverine has to lead. Because Sony has mangled and destroyed the X-Men, and rather than sticking with a formula that has worked for 40+years, they've decided to completely change them and ruin what was so cool about them in the first place.

Whatever crap reason they come up with will be just that, a crap reason they pulled out of their nether-regions to try and justify something that goes completely against EVERYTHING we know about the X-Men.

My fervent comic book prayer, more than anything else, EVER, (yes even more than wishing that Bucky would stay dead, or Peter and MJ would get back together) My fervent comic prayer is that the writers finally show Cyclops acting like the Bad MambaJamba he is, and just blasting the crap out of Wolverine so hard that Wolvie is gone from the books for a while and they let the X-Men go back to normal.

But seeing as they seem to care more about wringing every single dollar out of this Wolverine/Cyclops hybrid than about staying true to canon and what they've established, they will continue to force feed us this drivel and expect us to love them for it.

I hate the new Wolverine more than anything else in comics today. And yes, that includes Mega-events.

Wha tthe hell are you talking about? Sony has nothing to do with this series. If you are talking about the X-men movies, Sony had nothing to do with them either, it was 20th Century Fox. Fox also has no hand in this show.

Try again.

Which is WHAT exactly?

God shut up with the drama act already. Cyclops is badass in this show. One of the first things he does is blast Wolverine to hell when he taunts him during his grief.

Wolverine is a popular character. And what people forget because of his overwhelming popularity is that he's a good character. So you need to get over your petty fanboy hate.

I've watched this show. It's a good show. Just because Batman is popular and gets a lot of focus in the books and he's saved the day before despite not having any superpowers doesn't mean Batman sucks or he ruins the JL books.

This isn't the same as the comics. And you should watch this show.
