New Wolverine and the X-Men Trailer

I don't dislike Iceman. I think Angel design is worse.

Angel looks better in this new show then he did in TAS

That was really good. Love the animation and seeing all the X-Men in action like that.

you don't think iceman looked decent in the x-men tas episode cold comfort, i thought he looked awesome in and out of uniform....

You're right, he did. That was also one of the few episodes of 90's X-Men that wasn't animated by AKOM, and therefore still looks good.

As for the scenes themselves, it was very wolverine centric with him taking out the sentinel and cyclop's blast having no real effect.

I do hope they make the sentinels formidable like in evolution, they only produced a couple of them but you knew if they were mass replicated, they would cause some serious serious problems...

Of course it was Wolverine-centric. He's the STAR CHARACTER. For better or worse, this is HIS SHOW and the rest of the X-Men are merely HIS supporting characters. It hardly surprised me that he naturally got the best of the Sentinel in the teaser. I agree and hope that they aren't as easily smashable as in the 90's series, when even Jubilee was downing two of them by the end of Season 1.

I have a feeling they may become cannon fodder to deal with the violence restrictions within the show.

It's a shame a x-men cartoon hasn't really let loose in terms of violence, I always thought that was one of the main things that held evolution back even though it did manage some truelly fantastic character interactions (as long as they weren't interacting with storm, what a waste).

I've just noticed that all the x-men that appear in the clip are all that are in the poster at the end.

Is curious how Colossus and Rogue aren't in the team posters and don't seem to fight with the team...

Well, the X-Men vs. Juggernaut fight in "STUFF OF HEROES" was pretty good. from Evolution. But I agree the fights scenes could have been better, considering what BATMAN BEYOND could get away with on the same network.

The problem is no network besides HBO would allow Wolverine to carve into flesh and render blood, at least to human characters who bled red.

I'm not concerned about Rogue. She has historically gotten major exposure in X-Men cartoons, and been on the core cast of two of them.

Colossus...has nada. He's the perennial guest star or extended cameo. Because the guy isn't laden full of angst, and isn't a berserker rage guy, and isn't a womanizer or a *****e, writers have issues figuring out what to do with him. So he hits the background. Happens in the comics a lot, too. It stinks. Especially since he is visually very interesting and audiences, at least by my estimation, respond well to his feats of strength.

TheVileOne is of course convinced that because of a poster and a screen-cap, Colossus will suddenly show up 22 out of 26 episodes, but to me, it is on the show's end to buck history on this detail, or repeat it. The idea of Domino getting a major role in this show over Colossus is disgusting. The poor guy has been around since GIANT SIZE X-MEN #1 and he still gets half the respect that Nightcrawler or Storm get.

I think he'll have some developtment, at least in one episode, when Logan goes to get him back.

But will he join the x-men? we still don't know it.....

and that's nice, no? is like a mistery, I like the idea of not knowing all about this 26 episodes.

I'm not particularly excited about what is obviously just a gimmick for the upcoming Wolverine flick. I'll give it a chance of course, but I won't hold my breath.

If Wolverine is ever going to be distinguished from the X-Men, it's not for his leadership. That's the entire reason he complements Cyclops so well. So what disappoints me is that (for fanservice purposes) he's surrounded by the same old faces: Cyclops, Storm, Kitty, Rogue. Why not have Wolverine in charge of a bunch of punks? That way he has no choice but to take responsibility, albeit it begrudgingly and stays true to the character.

That kinda make sense about putting Wolverine in charge of punks so he needs to take the leadership role, cuz everyone in the group can all take care of themselves and some of them have lead teams all on their own before and did a good job.

This series has pre-dated the development and production of the Wolverine movie. The first reports of this series came out in 2006 like before the release of X-men 3.

somewhere in san diego they are people watching the first three episodes of WATX.
what are the chances of someone sneaking a camera in? :woot:

wow, two years to create the first episodes....

that's too much, no?

If they want the animation to be good, then yeah. Making cartoons is a long and time consuming process.

I suppose, but doing a big movie too, hehe.

I think they could have release it before if want it. But probably didn't want it, hehe.

I wanted to comment that I find this clip a bit weird... I mean, the music isn't epic enough... I suppose the clip has different momments, they aren't in continuation.

Normally the trailers has a faster pace, and has some lines from the characters.

After seeing this clip some times, I find it a bit boring, in terms of music, rythm...

Well the music from the score that's been put online does sound pretty epic. It was done by the music composers of Assassin's Creed.

yeah, but I was talking about this clip.

how do you really see it?

Well for what it was, I thought the clip was very impressive, and it at least gives some beautifully animated action sequence shots.

Y'know, while I like being critical, I just saw the 3rd trailer to NEXT AVENGERS, and it still looks like absolute drivel.

Even if WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN fulfills my worst fears about Logan worship and ignoring everyone else to background fawning status, I doubt it'll be as bad as NEXT AVENGERS looks to be. It at least has decent if not great trailers, and a mature theme.

Sometimes seeing some absolute **** can give some perspective.
