So is Spidey in high school in this series? Or is this Ultimate in name only?

Reminds me more of Unlimited than Ultimate, but it looks interesting. I'll check it out.
No way, Unlimited style was poorly animated and horribly designed. This is actually the most detailed Spider-Man series I've seen to date in traditional animation.

I don't mind teamups if the show is going continue to look like this, but this style of animation and character designs is perfect for handling a few classic Spider-Man story-arcs. I know this is based on Utimate, but I would kill to see what they could do with Kraven's Last Hunt or Master Planner.

That's what I wanna know. Black Nick Fury means nothing. I mean, the entire Marvel Universe in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was based on the 616-Universe, yet Sam Jackson-Fury was used there, too.

Animation is top notch, lays the smack down on just about everything I have seen to date

but, will the stories hold up? Will I come to care about all the characters that appear in the series? Will each new villain have thrills, not only in the action possibilities, but in their interactions with other villains, spidey, and spidey's loved ones?
we'll see

Yeah, let's hope the story and characters hold up. It would be a shame to waste such great character designs and animation.

Nick Fury is black with a goatee and a strong connection to Spider-Man, so it isn't Ultimate in name only

After watching the trailer multiple times, it still gets me excited. Here's hoping it's amazing!

It probably won't be as amazing as TSSM though, if you ask me. We'll see!

Alright let me just say that this looks ****ing awesome. Like I brain ****ed awesome.

The animation is so far the best we've seen in any series. Well at least its quality.

Spidey doing that heart webbing for that broad was my favorite part of the trailer.

Classic Spidey. SSM was the best Spider-Man animated series but this new one is looking pretty darn promising in its own right.

That "broad" was MJ...

Paul Dini stated that there re defenitely elements from USM in the show, hence the title, but there was going to be ALOT of new stuff/new ideas that aren't based off of USM.

It was a light red headed chick on a computer, that immediately makes her MJ?

Did you read somewhere that they've confirmed that as MJ? Seeing as MJ was also introduced in Ultimate Spider-Man somewhat late into the series if my memory serves me right.

Herp Derp back at yah. ;)

Lets wait till we get more info but you're probably right seeing as he did make a heart web and all. :o

IGN said so and she was introduced immediately. She was in issue #1 as an already possible love interest.

HERP DERP X 3

:(

I definitely like the animation style a lot more then SSM. Hope the stories are just as awesome.

I like the style ya know, It reminds me of the 90's cartoon only with better animation.

Haha, I just noticed Spidey propped the watch in front of a newspaper with his face on it after Fury told him not to go after the criminal. That's pretty funny.

Then there was a camera flash from where Spidey was, so does that mean he'll be a photographer here and not a web-designer? I hope he's a photographer, it gives more interaction with JJJ.

"Are you gonna stand there staring at me? Or are you gonna hustle your whims?"

LOL when he said are you gonna stand there. I think this is a minor slap in the face of the naysayers, animation wise anyway. BUT this is only a teaser.

Like others have mentioned, I can only hope this is on par with The Spectacular Spider-Man. Greg Weismann & Paul Dini are 2 of my favourite animation writers anyway (Gargoyles is awesome, and in my opinion the majority of the best episodes of the DCAU were written by Dini), so hopefully this show will be, dare I say it, AMAZING (even though it's Ultimate :oldrazz: ).

As do I. The new shows looks really cool, but it's going to be VERY hard to be as good as The Spectacular Spider-man. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Sorry, I lost all hope when Spidey's invisible wristwatch popped up and Nick Fury barked orders at him.

That's the dude that plays Phineas on Phineas and Ferb voicing him. I could tell right off the bat.
