News flash!

I hate to be the one to bring it up, but I can't count the times that i've seen films pushed back only to see them eventually be shelved.
They could just as easily moved the release date up till november or down to jan, but 6 months?
I'm not saying thats whats going on here, but it makes me wonder.

There's NO WAY this movie will be shelved. WB needs to get a Superman movie in production otherwise it'll lose the rights. This will happen.

Pushing the date is a smart move. WB will need a new summer tentpole after HP and Batman.

PLUS, it'll keep the MoS from competing from the (potential) juggernaut that is "The Hobbit," come Christmas 2012.

Green Lantern got bumped back from December 17th, 2010 to June 17th, 2011.

Hopefully thats all it is. Being a fan of superman on film over the years has made me cautious.

this might give time for cavil to get even bigger! or there might be a bad ass cg battle that would be awesome

I really like this move. Superman should be a summer tentpole film. June is a big movie month so let's hope MoS is awesome cause films can get easily lost among all the blockbusters at that time. The only thing that sucks is we might not see a Superbowl trailer till 2013. My guess is that they will have the first teaser with TDKR.

I think I'll take a leave of absence for a while... You gents take care.

Why theres gonna be plenty of info in between now and then, posters, pics, trailers plus other great movies in between.

MOS will be in the same summer as IM3 and Thor 2 in 2013.

It was up against The Hobbit, makes sense they'd push it back.

I guess I'm just bumed BH. I know with more time could be a good thing for the movie... Let's pray we get some awesome pics and posters and soon, yeah.

I suspect this is something like what happened to the Star Trek reboot release. The film was ready for its December 2008 release, but Paramount changed it to May 2009.

I don't believe that it affected principal photography in any way.

This being pushed back IMO is warner bros really doesn't have a huge Superhero flick being released in 2013. i could be mistaken. allot is riding on Man of Steel. officially Batman finishes his latest Run on the silver screen next year. I'm guessing that Warner Bros want superman to continue that trend. after all we just finished Harry Potter.

I know what you mean its abit of a knock but it could end up been the best thing for the franchise.

Might even be crucial to the franchise-prospect in the end.

People will have to accept they are doing actual film, which means this movie is happening.

Amy Adams on the Man of Steel Set, for... Smallville?

"He was asked to wait on two tables and serve food. Amy Adams who plays Lois Lane was on set that day.

“I think I’ll be in the film because I walk past her table a couple of times; I’m in the background,” he said, as he chuckled at the coincidence of the word."
