If anything, the leaked trailer made me more excited than the other trailer

All it did is cut some of the wind under their sails when they show the exact same ending to the new trailer in Feb. (or perhaps the Super Bowl commerical before then).

Venom has been revealed to the core fans and the core fans' friends. That is all. They're IP is safe and the general reaction was "Okay, now I HAVE to see it" as opposed to the original response which was "looks good."

They probably intended this to be their big checkmake at the beignning of next year but it doesn't matter for core fans anyway and the ?general public are generally cluless of its existence anyway.

Just reminds me of the hulk, not to long ago, the only difference is that Spiderman has a reputation of being a good film.

1st: the leaked trailer should have been the recent trailer cause they basiclly already showed it at CC and the leaked one was better not just becuse of venom. I enjoyed the beginning of it more and it had more of an atmosphere.

2nd: heres hoping for a new shot of venom for more hype and effect in febuary:up: :sym:

SONY could have avoided any marketing damage from this by simply revealing Venom themselves. They kind of brought it on themselves hogging Venom like that.

How much longer did they think it was going to work anyways?

I guess Sony didn't release it. Oh well. I think it worked out well for them. I was more hyped about the leaked one than the other and not because of Venom. The trailer was better and more exciting. I think it worked out well for Sony but only time can tell.

*looks around suspiciously*

Who could the culprit be....

Seems it wasn't a well thought out plan by Sony after all to release two versions of the Spiderman 3 trailer.

Leaked "Spider-man 3" Trailer is a Tangled Web

Posted Nov 13th 2006 7:36PM by Claude Brodesser-Akner
Breaking News: In a security breach with legal ramifications far beyond Hollywood's insular post-production community, an unfinished trailer for "Spider-man 3" has leaked onto the Internet.

Seems like someone is going to be paying a heavy fine for this. It looks pretty serious and some people are very angry about this.

It still could have been Sony that did it. I mean damn the entire internet is buzzing cause of the leaked trailer featuring Venom. This is working out for Sony better then they could have expected or did they?

What do you guys think?

I think they should be thanking whoever leaked it, or promote someone if it was Sony themselves.

:ninja:

this is getting a lot media attention...i think sony is going to make an example of this person, whoever it is.. im glad im not in that persons shoes..but im also glad i saw the leaked trailer! lol...

sony needs to calm down, it only made the fans even more exicted..no harm done, we all knew venom was in the movie anyway

*edit: woot, 200th post.

why the hell would they leak it with their water mark all over it?
It's like carving your initials into your desk....:whatever:

I prefer the released trailer, it just sets up things better.

The only really cool thing about the leaked one was the Venom scene and the music at the end. I guess one reason I didn't enjoy it as much though is because its unfinished, plus I prefered the way they had set the trailer up at Comic Con with having Aunt May talking while Peter looks at himself in the mirror, and then they show the whole scene where Eddie Brock is praying at church. If they kept it that way in the leaked trailer, I would have liked it more.

I bet it was a bitter Venom fanboy who leaked it out :p

Sony didn't give him/us Venom in the trailer so he taught Sony a lesson by never to piss off/disappoint fanboys/girls by leaking it out :oldrazz: :p

I agree. I am not a spiderman fan, and I thought the first two films were medicore at best and completely overhyped. But that leaked trailer - I dunno if it was the operatic score, titles proclaiming "embracing one's darkness", or venom at the end but it was INSANE. I will be first in line to see this film solely b/c of what was in the leaked trailer.

now that this has happened, sony will not make sure nothing else get's leaked, and i mean NOTHING

The reason Sony is so pissed off and threatening so many people is because they don't want anything else leaked. Sure they probably weren't thrilled that the unfinished trailer was leaked with Venom, but I bet they like the reaction it got. Now, they have to keep the flood gates from opening because the rest of the movie is out at other companies being worked on. They want some random guy working on the FX to think about how much **** they will be getting into if they leak any other footage.

:o It's always the fanboy's fault isn't it. He did us all a favor and got us a glimpse.

I thank that Fanboy. :hyper:

We all do :oldrazz:

I  you whoever leaked it out

Oh well.
I got to see it before it got snabbed off the net.

:D

I am actually more excited about Spider-Man 3 now having seen Venom. And I think that same excitement is shared by just about everyone here. And if you look at these boards, and the overwhelming disappointment of not being able to see Venom in this last trailer, I think this leaked trailer potentially helped the sequel even more. And as far as the trailer in premiering in February and potentially the Super Bowl, who isn't going to tune in and see it anyways, even after already having seen this we all know the CGI in both of these trailers isn't finished, and neither is the work on Venom, which means it could be an all new experience to see the finished product in February, and possibly see what venom will really look like.

ok, so lets say Ant Farm didn't realy do it. Whoever does it could then be sued by Google/Youtube, Sony and Ant Farm

Haha.
Oh well, Sony.

Haha.

Haha.

I got my trailer.

Exactly, the leaked trailer kicks the official one's ass. Sony is overreacting.

Whoever leaked it just earned sony a something like a billion more dollars in revenue.
