i got a notification from youtube that a trailer i had on there had been removed at the request of sony along with a little threat no to do anything like that again...the only thing in it that wasn't from another legit trailer was the words that eddie says when he's in the church asking for peter to be killed...man they suck at sony....what are they going to do, sue their fans so we don't see their movie? bah

I think Sony needs to realize that this did more good than harm to them.

As someone said, the leaked trailer made fans and non-fans hyped for the film, now everyone will continue to spread the word about it as Venom is in it and good word of mouth helps the product obviously.

I don't know if it's paranoia, stupidity, or they just don't want people to be spoiled early. However when push comes to shove this will help them in the long run and the box office will be proof of that.

I think it´s a bad Thing for Sony.. i mean this guys working on the Movie in 2 years and are upset because there work wasn´t finished yet. I can feel for them, im working in this business too and on such files and it would be a desaster if there were leaked.

Also it´s a BAD...BAD promotion for ANTFARM...sorry.. would you give them another 360 Million Movie Trailer Deal ????

I suspect in the end it was a power struggle... Sam wanted the Venom-less trailer featuring the black suit and Sandman, and Sony kept the unofficial trailer as a contingency plane... If fans screamed "we wanna see Venom!", as they did, they´d justify the second release as a "leak" and put out lawsuits just for cover, cuz even they admit that if a leak happened it´s almost impossible to trace it back to the leaker.

In these days of internet and filesharing it is impossible to keep something secret now days. This is not Fort Knox, it's the internet. Sony needs to realize this. They should have kept a tighter chain on all their employees, and should have never put the footage of Venom into any upcoming trailer period! That was their first mistake. Don't get mad at people for sharing what you made...I know copyright, blah, blah, blah, yeah ok. But, if you're going to put it onto the internet, don't cry that everyone is sharing it. We love these movies. It a F#*% trailer for Chr!$t sake, not the whole d@m movie, and what we saw was not finished product. Get over it Sony, quit blaming other people, and start blaming yourselves. Again, this is NOT Fort Knox. It IS the internet. You want to STOP this, don't put it on the internet anymore, only at the box office, problem solved!!
