This all seams so stupid. This leaked trailer inspired the hype the first lackluster trailer failed to summon. The trailer got attention, just like Sony wanted.

however, if they didn't leak it, i have just one thing to say... Take a Lesson that by all rights should be common sense to any artist, no matter the medium... especially Metallica... DONT SUE YOUR FANS. Take your bump followed by a hum jobber, and just enjoy the free positive buzz. Dont F it up by doing a de de De on the people who are giving gloating reviews on a long in dispute character you could have easily f'ed up.

I don't understand why Sony are threatening legal action over this. The leak has, if anything, got people even more excited over their film.

I get that they're a bit angry that someone has leaked the trailer, but after all it IS only a trailer. I could understand them threatening legal action if it was the entire film, but its only an unfinished trailer.

I wouldn't be entirely suprised if they'd released the trailer themselves as a form of viral marketing or something.

It'd be so funny if it turned out to be some random work experience kid who leaked the trailer. Kinda like in the Simpsons when Bart worked at the DMV and Patty (or Selma) make the mistake of leaving him alone to make his own drivers license.

The guy'd be a friggin hero.

Personally, I loved the leaked trailer - sure it's unfinished but it gives an idea of some of the great action and drama thats in store for us.

Seriously, Sony; how pissed off would you be if everyone had HATED the leaked trailer?

All it's done is made us even more stoked for the movie.

I seriously suspect this is all an act and Sony let the trailer leak cuz they realized fans were demanding to see Venom. Fans are pleased with the look of the character and the movie got more hype. I suspect these lawsuits will die quickly.

he was not "revealed" at Comic Con
if he was revealed, an OFFICIAL picture would be posted BY SONY and it would be on the Hype's front page, Sony's front page, basically every movie site's front page, we would be allowed to post it here without being banned, and everyone would have a Merry Christmas

that is NOT the same as seeing it or having it revealed
you can read descriptions until they come out of your ass, but you still won't know what he looks like
and watching the blurry footage and trying to see is worse than looking into Spidey's eye to find something

Yeah, that was a special thing for the people at ComicCon.

And I'm sure that Sony was just being niave in assuming that those same people wouldnt go onto boards such as this one and tell people what they'd seen.

No way could Sony have been keeping Venom a surprise after that.
