LAGOS, Nigeria – One of Nigeria's biggest daily newspapers reported that police implicated a goat in an attempted automobile theft. In a front-page article on Friday, the Vanguard newspaper said that two men tried to steal a Mazda car two days earlier in Kwara State, with one suspect transforming himself into a goat as vigilantes cornered him.
The paper quoted police spokesman Tunde Mohammed as saying that while one suspect escaped, the other transformed into a goat as he was about to be apprehended.
The newspaper reported that police paraded the goat before journalists, and published a picture of the animal.
Police in the state couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Belief in black magic is widespread in Nigeria, particularly in far-flung rural areas.

Bout time we rounded up dem der goats :o

You know the economy is bad when the goats start stealing cars.

What I'd like to know is if the guy was already surrounded by the cops, why did he think changing into a goat would help him escape? I mean, if they see him change, his disguise is ruined, and goats aren't exactly the best alternate form to use for escapes.

Or maybe it was a goat disguised as a human.

Still, ditching his human disguise in view of police would be pointless anyway. These Nigerian Goat-men have a habit of making poor life choices.

EDIT: Also, just to make it clear, I neither doubt or believe this story, I keep an open mind about things and am more than aware of the fact that we know so little about the world. Mostly I just saw this thread as a way to laugh at Goat-Men (against whom I am predjudiced), but I'm leaving this note here in case anyone wanted to have a serious discussion on the possibility of this event being true. Good night.

Makes me wonder what Nigerian police would do to Toonces the cat if he were still alive and they caught him speeding over a cliff.

He should've tried something small and quick....Like a ferret.

WTF do people that live in countries where they have cars still believe in were-goats? I mean seriously W. T. F.

Well, theoretically the goat could butt one of the cops, jump over his prostrate body, and escape. Obviously, that didn't happen. Maybe it was his first time turning into a goat and he was just too awkward to escape.

Exactly. That's what I did last week.

True, but clearly this guy lacks the creativity to fully utilize his polymorphing abilities.
