This is a thread to speak in appreciation for the late 1970s Amazing Spider-Man television series starring Nicholas Hammond.

This past winter I had the opportunity to meet with him at a local comics convention, and it was a pleasure to be able to talk with him for a few minutes about his experiences as well as to get some autographs and a photo with him.

Whatever the various faults of the series are (especially in retrospect), it was legitimately the "only" live action dramatic portrayal of Spider-Man for decades, leading into the Columbia-produced film series starting in 2002.

I hope that the video rights are secured somehow in the near future, so that the show can be released as a complete series DVD set, ideally. At minimum, the show could be released to one of the streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon.

I remember watching that when it first aired! That's really cool that you got to meet Hammond :yay:
