The Wrap said:
Andy Samberg and Kelsey Grammer are set to lend their voices to “Storks,” an original animated adventure from the Warner Animation Group. The film will arrive in theaters on Sept. 23, 2016 courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, the studio announced Monday.

Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors”) and Doug Sweetland (Oscar-nominated short “Presto”) are co-directing the feature from an original script by Stoller.
Stoller is also producing the film with Brad Lewis. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Jared Stern will serve as executive producers.

With a totally original story developed under the umbrella of the Warner Animation Group, the film will deliver a fresh and funny look at the fable behind storks. Additional voice cast will be announced soon.

Monday’s announcement was made by Warner Bros. executives Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, president of international distribution.

“We are thrilled to be broadening our animation slate with the new adventure ‘Storks,'” said Fellman.

“‘Storks’ is an innovative idea that is sure to delight kids and families all over the world,” said Kwan Vandenberg.

“This is an exciting project that demonstrates the boundless creativity and imagination of the Warner Animation Group and our dear friend and frequent collaborator, Nick Stoller,” added Greg Silverman, WB’s president of creative development and worldwide production.

I've been excited for this since it has been announced since 'Presto' is probably my favorite short. Excited to see it get a date.

‘Magnificent Seven’ Roping $37M Opening; Stick A Fork In ‘Storks’ – Late Friday PM B.O. Update

This brings us to Warner Bros.’ animated feature Storks which is filing far below industry and studio expectations with an estimated $21.4M in second off a reported $70M production cost. Many had this between $28M-$33M. Yes, animated films have legs, but Storks isn’t really delivering audiences, and with a short takeoff like this, it’s unlikely it will churn out a 5x multiple even with its A- CinemaScore tonight. In fact, whenever an animated movie opens this low, an A- CinemaScore doesn’t really help it. In fact, it’s akin to an adult movie getting a B CinemaScore. It’s a different story when a feature toon gets an A- and earns $104.4M in its first FSS like Secret Life of Pets. There’s a want to see there.

Further hurting grosses for Storks is the mediocre critical response at 62% fresh (its rating never got higher). Deadline’s sister Variety says it’s “unfunny” while New York Post‘s wisenheimer Kyle Davis complains, “Less enjoyable than making a baby but more enjoyable than raising one, the animated feature Storks delivers a bouncing bundle of blah.” Political-social satire Zootopia, Storks is not and after digesting some of the best Disney and Universal/Illumination films of the year, families are spoiled and know what toons to sidestep. In addition, Sony Animation has a great track record for delivering solid toon properties in this frame that are either based on popular kids’ book adaptations (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) or are solid animated genre satires by mass appealing funny men (Adam Sandler’s Hotel Transylvania). Another reason why Storks might be flagging? Despite iSpot.TV reporting that Warner Bros. spent an estimated $25.8M on stateside ad spot media, we hear that the Burbank, CA lot has relegated more TV ad dollars to opening Ben Affleck’s The Accountant on Oct. 14 than Storks.

I didnt think this would be any good but it had me cracking up throughout and it has heart
