Niels Arden Oplev to remake "FlatLiners"

I watched this. The characters were ok and the parts going into the flatline were cool but overall it was meh. It wasn’t bad to hate it and it wasn’t good enough it just felt like an unnecessary movie. Ellen Page was good and also I will say I was pleasantly surprised

that she died rather early on in the movie as she was the lead so that was a bit different

If I were to rate it maybe 6/10

I was amazed they even tried to do a remake. The first one is too much of a classic.

saw it the other night (never seen the original)
i thought it was good, the premise/concept was solid, enjoyed ellen page's performance

will definitely will have to check out the original

The problem with the original is that it didn't real live up or go further with its concept. I thought it was going to be like a Cronenberg type body horror film. That could have been a direction they went with this.

Never seen the original, but I know it's not a classic. I've said this in so many other threads, people throw around that term to much.

The original Flatliners didn't influence filmmaking, to my knowledge it doesn't have the general reception of being "great," and/or it's not a pop culture staple.

So calling it a classic to me is silly.

It's a fine movie, nothing special. When you find out what's really going on, I was just like, "That's it? ... okay." Schumacher directed it well though. Gave it a sort of gothic atmosphere and cool style that makes it stand out. So pretty much unlike this movie which just looks generic.

If this movie did indeed have more Keifer and more of a legacy feel, I might have given it a shot, but that didn't happen.

It's a sequel actually. Kiefer Sutherland is playing his character from the original. Why it has the same exact name? Beats me.

I think it's kinda like the 2011 movie. Technically a prequel to the 1982 film, but it's just The Thing. I think they just want you to it's not a sequel or a prequel maybe?

Like the 2015 Vacation movie was just called Vacation, and it was technically a sequel, but it still bombed.

Of course, someone had to ruin the 0% rating.

I guess it's a mute point now since the sequel news wasn't true a Kiefer played a different character, which felt like one of many wasted opportunities in this boring goofy mess of a flick.

Just saw this. Im surprised that it works as an anti-drug parable without getting too preachy.

Awwww man, Keifer ISN'T playing his original character? What a wasted opportunity to do a little world building. Guess he needed a paycheck to pay for his band. :D

It looks like they cut out the scene where they hinted that he was Nelson and was experienced with flatlining. Supposedly all the young people were confused in test screenings.

Millennials, am I right?
