Nightwing Thread

Couldn't seem to find one here. Figured I'd make one. t: I guess discuss anything Dick Greyson/Robin/Nightwing.

Anyone else want a Nightwing TV series? I think it would work so well. I'd like to see a movie, but a TV series seems like it'd be more realistic for DC to do, and could work out better. Since more heroes seem to be heading to TVs possibly (Wonder Woman, The Sandman, The Punisher, Iron Fist, and Hulk) Maybe they should give Nightwing a shot too?

I feel indifferent about him, mostly because I didnt see him much in the Batman comics. Only during Tim Drake's first appearance and KnightsEnd. I really liked Tim Drake when he appeared and thought its a very sympathetic character. I started reading/collecting Batman comics starting with 1989's Detective Comics #596 so by that point Grayson and Todd were out

I dunno if I wanna see a TV series on him, but I do like him.

I love Dick Grayson, whether he's Robin or Nightwing. His tense would-be father/son relationship with Batman has always been very interesting to me. Can you even imagine being under the authority of someone like Bruce while growing up and going through your teen years? I've always thought that when it comes to strength of spirit, Dick must be one of the strongest characters around to spend his young life as Batman's protege but maintain a relatively positive outlook.

As far as a Nightwing TV series, I'd worry it would turn out like Smallville. There was actually talk of a series focusing on Dick Grayson a couple of years ago, but that project was dropped, I believe.

I like the idea but fear they'd screw it up. TV doesn't seem to know how to treat costumed heroes on an ongoing basis. Best case scenario-they'd go the "Birds Of Prey" route & have Batman MIA while Dick tried to figure out which way to go.
