Hmm, good news for Super Smash Bros perhaps. This could mean even more cross over characters!

As odd as it is, a moogle seems like it would fit in SSB perfectly.

Hmm. Yeah. I read that a Moogle would be in there, but not about the other characters.

Square Enix is developing the Mario Hoops game, so it was likely they'd throw their own characters in. This could be good new for Brawl. Nintendo said they hoped Snake's appearence in Brawl would lead other companies to allow their characters in the game. It's possible we'll get some FF stuff, but I'm not fully convinced it'll happen.
