This shouldn't come as a surprise, but Marvel has made it official. The comic giant will not be making any future games with Sega.

well all I can say is it's sorta about time. The only resent good game from them was the captain America game.

The rest just didn't do well at all from sega's history with them. oh well hope they find a way better developer /pulisher.

Indeed, it's no surprise at all.

Yea i had a feeling this was coming. Activision will be next once those current contracts expire. Its long been known that Disney wants to break into the video games medium and getting some of those licenses back or at least keeping them in house will go a long way.

Most of their games have been outright terrible. I haven't played the Captain America tie-in, so I don't know how that turned out. But overall, I can only see this as a huge step in the right direction.

trust me the captain america game was the only one out of them(games of marvel) that was good and it was made by developer in vancover Canada that had some what independence from sega. But still under the publishing house . (for now) they better leave sega as well, I'd hate to see that talent go to waste due to being under sega.

It seems unless you have some kind of Independence from them your not gonna do well.

They should have ended it with the second Iron-Man game. I'm kinda surprised it lasted this long.

Thank-God. Hopefully Disney will keep the rights and contract some good developers.

I guess they want a fresh start for the next phase of MARVEL Video Game Movies

When they signed the deal for Iron Man, they also signed deals for their Captain America, Hulk and Thor franchises. Im assuming those deals have run out and they aren't looking to re-up. Id imagine even if those games weren't awful they would of done the same thing.

Yea, id assume Disney will try to keep it in house or do what WB did and give the individual property to one developer and go from there.

na na na na, na na na na, HEEEEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEY, GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!

It really is just a shame what SEGA became, in general. But these movie tie-ins were the epitome of quick cash grab. And they just kept pumping them out, with so little effort, even though everyone was calling them on it. Shameful, really.

I thought the Hulk game was pretty good...wasn't near as good as Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, but it was alright. Activision and Sierra made some good games.

Best Marvel Games recently:

Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1

News flash: With a handful of exceptions, licensed movie games will always be worthless piles of ****. It's not really Sega's fault. Give them to any other publisher/developer and you would get the same result. It's just the nature of the beast.

With the success of Arkham City, with it's 6 Million or so unit sales, they can see how a good video game can make over 200 Million easily. Hopefully they will give developers more time to make them, and give them the correct vision for it. Hopefully the day of Movie tie in games are over.

No, movie tie ins are no where close to being phased out. They're made really cheap and tend to move a fair amount of copies. They're advertisements for the film they tie in with. They aren't going any where.

Thank the heavens. After Iron Man you knew SEGA wasn't doing anything with the license.

It's about time. I wonder if Marvel will take their video game market seriously now.

the best Marvel related games came out during the SNES era. X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse and Spiderman: Maximum Carnage come to mind.
