Switch Nintendo's next generational console

that's true. the Switch kicked both the Ps4 and Xbone's asses without being nearly as powerful so if the Switch 2 can get away with it then they'll probably just keep the status quo. This would end up meaning that the Switch 2 won't be getting that third party support, though. for anyone who wants to play GTA6, they'll have to still go for a Ps5 or Series X/S.

Yeah, in terms of new 3rd party games designed exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X that'll no doubt be the case. Although there is some good news for the Switch 2 in that a lot of 3rd party games across the past few years have been cross-gen, which means they were designed to run on PS4 and Xbox One with lower graphical settings. The Switch 2 will probably be able to handle those at least, giving it easy access to a selection of more recent 3rd party ports than the original Switch had.

Just saying, that new info will come within the next 11 months is kinda weak

Does Nintendo have an annual expo?

Any chance there will be a reveal at gamescom?

TGS is likely their big in person thing now that E3 is dead. But again, they aren't going to reveal it this year.

if Switch 2 is releasing in Q1 next year then why wouldn't they reveal it this year?

Nintendo's fiscal year Q1 is April-June. So they could technically drop a reveal in January but that really only gives them a 3 month window to start marketing it. While possible, I think they's a bit too tight of a time frame, unless they push the release to June. I do think maybe they might reveal it at the tail end of this year like October/November, which could also coincide with a price drop for the Switch 1 depending on how sales are the rest of the year.

even if it comes out June of next year, I still think it's important that they reveal it this year. October/November seems like a safe bet to me. I'm thinking either the Switch will get a price cut, or the price will remain the same and the Switch 2 will be $400.

Translation:

Leak Express: Assassin's Creed Shadows is being ported to Switch 2. The intention is to have it ready for the launch window of Nintendo's new console. The ports of Assassin's Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey and Origins will also arrive, the latter two in a bundle

"..The second one is that no developer I've spoken to expects it to launch in this financial year, in fact they've been told not to expect it in this financial year. A bunch of people I spoke to hope it's out in April/May time still early next year not late.."

Nintendo should call it the SWiitch. :o
