Nintendo's next major character...

After playing Mario Kart Wii like a thousand times I started to realise some of the Nintendo characters lack originality. I mean, what next? Wapeach? Baby Toad?

So I thought I'ld ask you guys. Who would you love to see appear in the next Nintendo game as a playable character?

I'ld like to play as a blooper...

or a hammer brother?

or for something completely new, a character that looks like an Orca...

So who do you think would make a great new nintendo mascot? What would they be called? What would their story or personality be like?

wasn't there an orca is super mario sunshine? yeah, i like blooper as well, but sadly, we'll probably see 'wapeach' in the future.

I was thinking about this before I went to bed. Nintendo needs to "revive" some of their older franchises. It's pretty much just Mario, Zelda, and some Metroid games that are made.

When are we going to get a Donkey Kong game that DOESN'T have bongos? How about another Yoshi game? Star Fox needs to return to his N64 roots (Adventures and Assault were ok). We could use another F-Zero game as well. It's probably going to happen, but let's see another Kid Icarus game. I also would like to see a 2D Metroid game (love those). Kirby should make a return as well. Revive Earthbound, too (start with a DS port).

Star Fox seriously needs to become what he once was. 64 was one of the best and most addictive shooters I've ever played.

Who the hell thought it was a good idea to have him WALK around with a bunch of dinosaurs?

Assault wasn't bad; would have been better if the ground controls were improved.

Star Fox should never be on the ground. If Nintendo wanted to make an action platformer dealing with dinosaurs or whatever, they should go ahead. But sticking Star Fox in it is just dumb. He should never leave his Arwing during gameplay. Never ever.

It worked alright in Assault because you could swap into the Landmaster on some levels which was fun.

But Star Fox is definitely better in the air.

When was the last time Nintendo even created a succesful original franchise based on a new character? All its games seem to be based on their older ones.

Pikmin is probably the most recent. But really, why other making new ones? They have more original characters than Sony and MS combined.

I would LOVE to see a new Star Fox game! Bring Back star wolf. A friend and I once tried to make a Star fox comic book, I think if they make a new SF game it should be a prequel about his father and how pigma betrays and whatnot! Also as for Mario characters spinning off into their own series... what about Boo? I mean he's a ghost I feel like you could use that in such a cool way? Or a bowser game, where you play as bowser defeating an evil bigger than yourself?

Hell yes to both of those! Yoshi's Story was amazing and the Donkey Kong Country trilogy was fantastic. Need more of that Nintendo

Exactly. Nintendo is sitting on a gold mine of unique, exclusive characters. Let's see them in more games than Brawl.

But also what I would like to see Nintendo do for thier Mario Party, Mario Kart and various Mario Sports games would be to take them to a Smash Bros theme.....Smash Bros Party, Smash Bros Kart and Smash Bros ...uh...Tennis.

Basically leave the games the way they are but take out some of the Birdo, and Koopa Troopa characters and fill them with Link, Samus and the like.

I dunno, that's what I personally would like to see.

I think it would stick more to the Icons and thier core group

Mario: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi
DK: Donkey Kong, Diddy, Dixie
Zelda: Link, Zelda, Gannon
Starfox: Fox, Wolf, Falco, uh...the girl and the frog.
Kid Icarus: Pit
Metroid: Samus, Ridley
Kirby: Kirby, Dedede


Maybe some Pokemon....And likely Sonic, Tails and Knuckles........But I think other 3rd partiers should not take place.....I think Snake in a go Kart tossing turtle shells would be odd.

And, you know Nintendo, they would stick in all kinds of crazy crap beyond what would normally be expected. AKA Marth. Or Game and Watch.
