Didn't get to see the close of RAW last night. Again, I have to give kudos to Triple H for the amount of bumps and selling he's been doing for Shield. I kinda twinge when he take those over the top bumps because he's in his 40s, but he takes them like a champ.

I gotta check one of AJ's NJPW matches on youtube. Thoughts guys? I know NextNolan has at least one recommendation...

He's only had two matches. He won the IWGP Heavyweight Title in his first match. You think a main event world title match between Okada and Styles would be awesome, but they're not IMO. Honestly, the work is good, but.....let me put it this way: the booking of those two matches they've had are everything I hate about mainstream American wrestling. Ref bumps, interference from the BIG, NWO rip off faction etc.

Watching Main Event. Bryan has taught Brie well. She needs to get rid of those screams.

WWE is looking at ending the feud with John Cena and Bray Wyatt in the next month or so. It was reported that the feud would definitely go through Payback but word now is that it may end at Money In the Bank.

It’s no secret that WWE creative has talked about turning Sheamus heel for some time now. A future feud with John Cena has been discussed. No word yet on how the United States Title would factor into the feud – if Cena would challenge for it or if Sheamus will drop it before the Cena feud. All we know is that a future feud between the two is being considered.

It’s possible that they do the match at SummerSlam but almost all plans for that show are still up in the air. We noted earlier this week that Vince McMahon had “lost interest” in Sheamus but Triple H was still behind him and a SummerSlam match against Cena would be high-profile.

On a lighter note, at least Chikara's You Only Live Twice was a very fun show and a great re-introduction to Chikara. With WWE being as stale as ****ing **** as it is right now, it's nice to have an interesting and entertaining PG product to watch.

Oh and I love how a lot of their upcoming shows (like this past one) are named after James Bond movies. Awesome.

Kind of funny how last year everyone was talking about how bad WWE was before Payback. I wonder if WWE will pick up again in the summer?

I kind of like RD Evans' "New Streak" stuff. Seems like something Jericho would have done in the 90's during his comedic heel days . Too bad Taker can't show up and kick his ass.

The thing is I kind see any kind of uspide to it as Evans is terrible, his stuff doesn't look like it could bust a paper bag. I know he's a comedy act but winning runs and comedy acts don't mix, he'd be better as part of an odd couple tag team IMO.

- Word coming out of RAW is that last night's show was Batista's last RAW for the time being.

I wonder how that effects the booking of the match at Payback, you'd think some sort of injury spot might be worked in, like Batista getting power-bombed through the table like Reigns was on Raw as the first fall.

I think Vince sees a lack of money in Sheamus, I wonder if he's actually the guy HBK was talking about, the one everyone assumed was Bryan despite HBK saying he was a big guy.

A feud with Cena wont help Sheamus IMO, it'll leave him in limbo as the crowd kinda want to boo them both.

I see a lot of negativity in this thread about current WWE and I think you can see the threads are moving slower, but in truth I'm not sure what people want them to do, they are pushing a whole tonne of new guys and a lot of them are IWC favourites, however it takes time for everything to fit into place.

I also see the usual NJPW/ROH wankfest but taking out my dislike of the overkill style of both promotions, surely common sense tells you their booking model simply does not work for mainstream wrestling, it never has and never will.

In my eyes the big issue WWE has is that Cena/Wyatt ran out of steam weeks ago, Bryan is injured and only Triple H actually comes off like he cares about the angle with The Shield, Orton and Batista look bored. Plus CM Punk is a big miss as there's a lack of main event talent to aid the mass push of new guys.

However if WWE persevere I think by Summerslam the pieces can be in place for some of their best output in ages top to bottom.

Brood's not even a top 10 faction. No big historical importance, no really good run. The group's mainly remembered for the origins of Edge and Christian. Come on man!

I can let that one slide to an extent because he's the lead of the current generation and probably the kids voted. But it definitely wasn't better than Jericho's or Rey's debut, or as important as Scott Hall appearing in WCW.

I watched ROH's 12th Anniversary show today, one of the best of the year even if it inexplicably closes with a garbage match between Steen and Cliff Compton.

AJ Styles vs Jay Lethal was a textbook showcase of athleticism, Cole vs Hero was good, solid pro wrestling and reDRagon vs Adrenaline Rush stole the show, fantastic tag natch, no team puts together a finishing stretch better than reDRagon IMO.
