The Dark Knight Rises Nolan not coming back?

I've been to places in LA that will serve you during the movie. They're pretty quiet, and they don't distract to much. Plus, it's cool to get beer during a movie.:cwink:

keywords there are "pretty quite" and "to much"

yea, I would never pay $15 for "pretty quite" and "to much" when I can pay $5 for complete silence and enjoyment

and I can't drink when I'm trying to pay attention to plot and dialog. So that's not even a factor for me

but that's just me

Hehe, I guess it all depends on the experience you want. Yes, if I want to actually be absorbed in the movie, then I wouldn't go to those places, but if I'm just looking for a good time with some friends, its a good change of pace. I don't go all the time, cause there aren't any theaters like that close to where I live. I just went twice, and saw Back to the Future and Indiana Jones, and I had a blast.

I must be the only one who thinks Black Mask sucks.

Seriously, it's like fanboys want him in the movie to gain some super egotism over the normies by saying "I knew about this character before you did cuz I read the comics."

What the hell are you even talking about? I could care less if ppl know about him before the movie or not

One thing Jett has said, and IS true, at one point or another WB will have to "lay claim" to a date.

- Jow
They will have to eventually, but given the box office performance of TDK, (and especially how it lay waste to any movies opening two weeks before and after it) once they set a date, any movies opening within that two-week buffer zone will probably move in response. :funny:

I think he's crazy, just not stupid. The one and only time I don't think he is lying in the movie is during the Batman interrogation scene. He was speaking truth in that scene, freak to freak. Any other time he's lying his ass off. Which means he's aware of what he's doing - yet does it anyway. So he's crazy lol.

- Jow
Actually IIRC, the definition of insanity is knowing right from wrong during the crime in question. Joker is fully aware what he's doing is wrong. He just doesn't care. So he's not really insane, just an evil SOB. :hoboj:

it doesn't cost more than $9 TOPS for a movie
Not in LA, man. Now it's $11 for a night-time showing and $8.50 for a matinee. And $15 for IMAX, even if it's fake IMAX. :funny:

At least our local AMC has the weekend before-noon pricing of $6, but that also means you have to get up before noon. :funny:

qft.

Wasn't till August 2006 that we got TDK news.

That was a year and a month or two after Begins.

With the bigger delay between films, I'd expect some kind of an official announcement either at comic con (if we're super lucky) or at the very latest, some time in december / January.

yeah thats what i figured (comic con) i just cant wait to get the ball rolling on here with all you guys again... its amazin to think we all have been on here (some of us even before) since pre production of batman begins( was a lurker). i still remember seeing that first pic of the batmobile in the grass....

I remember how unreasonably excited I got about the shots of the London hospital that was standing in for Arkham asylum. I remember that first, blurred picture of Heath Ledger outside his trailer, wearing green hair dye.

A lot of people would make the usual charge that I needed to get out into the real world a little more, in response to those comments. But, in truth, I spend all of my time there. My experience of the real world is generally like most other peoples': aggressive, repetitive, stressful, phoney and isolating. It's some kind of therapy to come here and enthuse about geekisms with fellow geeks.

So, yeah, let's have a spy picture of Emily Blunt smoking a carrott while in Catwoman costume!

Indeed. My "real world" involves rooting for a sport (and a team) I don't care for. But seeing multiple Lakers flags on car windows is pretty amusing.

Sadly, didn't find this place till post Begins after I got fed up with the Nazi over at batman-by-jett.com

still, i remember the fake joker pics we got before the blurred one. Man, oh man, it's gonna be crazier around here this next time. Just make note of the people around right now, they're more hardcore fans than the people who just pop in during trailers and leaked info.

Yup. It'll be pretty awesome. Although I think I'll just pop in to see what the rumor du jour is, and not participate in the resulting freakouts. :funny:

Black Mask and Catwoman are who Im hoping for in BB3

Heck ya!

I vote for those two as well. Both can interact with Wayne and Batman.

Christopher Nolan not coming back to the Batman Franchise? Wonderful!

CALL BRYAN SINGER STAT!

Please don't take this the wrong way because I love the sheer perfection that Chris brought to the Batman Franchise. He has given us two fantastic films and if he needs a break from Gotham than so be it. I'd like to see him scale back and hopefully gather himself for a 4th film instead.

Now in terms of Bryan Singer's entry to the Bat-Films. He's the best fit for this franchise and I will go out on a limb and say he may be even better than Christopher Nolan. If there's anything Mister Singer knows how to deliver that's dark storytelling. He thrives in the shadows and tragedy. I think Bryan bleeds Batman and could give us the third and most fitting and topped 3rd installment to this trilogy. He knows how to shoot epically and bring a large cast to life without getting too lost in the mix.

His craft for working with shadows is perfect as most of this film is shot within the night or at the very least dusk. Bryan can being an even bigger edge not only to this 3rd installment but to the Batman character as well.

I'd LOVE to see him take over the reigns even for just one film.

I BELIEVE IN BRYAN SINGER FOR BATMAN 3!

So he already ****ed up Superman, and now you want him to **** up Batman?

Bravo.

I'm sure the WB will make sure that Nolan (or whoever makes the third pic) has signed on and at least have a working story treatment before they lay down a tentative release date. I remember the press release said "summer 2008" before WB nailed down the 7/18/08 date.

I wouldn't be surprised if WB lays down a tentative July 13, 2012 date or even a Wednesday date, July 18, 2012.

I was on BOF too before begins and remember when this place was just spider-man hype. Pre-Batman Begins there was the Frankenbat photo, that was funny when it leaked. Also the script leak when jett shut down the website for a bit. Also I remember some members who called themselves the shh triad, they had quiet a bit of info on begins if i wasnt mistaken.

Believe it or not, I was watching for all of that. 'Twas good times.

Anyone remember...

Someone over at imdb was saying that they had the Wizard World footage of TDK shown to fans and that it would be posted at like 8 pm. People waited all day and all of the boards were buzzing. When they finally posted it, it was some sort of sick Fresh Prince/Rick Roll hybrid.

I remember they all found the guy's myspace and some guy posted a video online threatening to hunt him down and kill him.

But freaking out is half the fun!

:lmao:

Do NOT mess with batfans, I guess.

Haha, the Triad. Para, MJZ, and Gill.

 Oh the memories, they got us some good insight too before Begins hit theaters

Oh and on that note, I still have the frankenbat picture

You mean the photoshopped Legolas make up tests (or whatever it was)? Ahhh good old times...and I do miss the old Bettany-Hulmes feud!

Haha, I do miss the 'ol Bettany-Hulme feuds.

And if anybody wants to know, I wanted Hulme to be The Joker, damn it!:woot:

regwec dont feel like that...its not about what kind of life you live..my life is busy and hectik between family, work, and hangin out but its the passion i have for the subject( in this case batman) that makes me pay attention to every detail.

There's only one man for the job, who is stylistically similar enough for it to work and still be a good trilogy, and that's Michael Mann.

Christopher Nolan should definitely return as director for the third film, I wouldn't want to see Nolan making the same mistake of leaving the trilogy incomplete that Tim Burton did. Although, WB wanted Tim Burton to leave the franchise due to the backlash towards the level of violence that that pushed the PG-13 rating and overall dark feel of Batman Returns, Burton could have fought to return for the third film but instead he left and then, Joel Schumacher ruined the Batman franchise.

Do you all have read this already?.

I would be far more surprised to hear that Christopher Nolan had committed to a third BATMAN film than I would be to hear he was backing away from one at this point. And not because I think he won't be back (although that is scarily plausible) but because he's busy on INCEPTION, if reports are to be trusted, a truly massive project. Why the hell would he want to start talking about another huge endeavor while he's doing that?

That said, whenever I do hear that Nolan is gone from this franchise, it does frightens me a little. And that is what's going around today, through Batman-On-Film. Those dudes are reporting that the death of Heath Ledger "rocked Nolan hard, and that the Joker absolutely was meant to return for Bats 3". The unique events that surrounded THE DARK KNIGHT have caused Nolan to choose to leave the franchise, and that, for now, is that. It is also reported that it will be 2012 at best before we see another Batman, more likely 2013.

So what do we do with this story? I wouldn't worry about it too much. Nolan is doing INCEPTION now and then we'll rendezvous on all this once he's done with that.

yea im still thinking batman will return in 2011. 4-5 years between sequels is too much. 2005 BB 2008 TDK 2011 b3.
