The Dark Knight Rises Nolan not coming back?

I say if Nolan truly doesn't want to return, or wants to push BB3 back 3 or 4 years just let Jonah Nolan take it over. He wrote the movie and has yet to direct a feature, I think. I don't think it will be the same as Chris Nolan, but if Chris or Emma Thomas produce the film while Goyer/J.Nolan write and Jonah directs it, I think we can have the BB3 we all can be satisfied with. Jonah isn't exhausted from TDK either, he will bring some life to a third and maybe fourth film in the franchise if he and Goyer pump out a crazy enough story. They have the villains in mind already, Chris is testing the waters with Leo, Gordon Levitt, Collitard, and Tom Hardy bc I believe those will be the actors portraying the villains in the next film. Leo = Black Mask, Gordon Levitt = Joker, Collitard = Catwoman, and Hardy comes in as the Riddler...I don't think its too many villains if its done right...
I'm not worried about Chris not coming back, Warners will put out a BB3 with Bale with or without Chris by 2012, theres not chance the WB will loose out on that payday before the world ends that December. AND I almost would love to see what Jonah would do with BB3 if given full control, there were reports that his script was toned down and some crazy comic book scenes deleted by Chris...Just think Jonah is the bigger comic fan and would give us another Joker story with some new villains also...I'm thinking he would go for a Arkham Asylum story or something intimate...

Did you finally actually see it? Big Antonio.

I'm not saying Jett's post is 100% accurate, but the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I remember not too long ago when large amounts of Batman Fans assumed that Batman 3 was most certainly coming out in 2011, flash forward to now, not so sure about that right?

So I'm not saying pay attention to every rumor and take it as gold, be cautious and logical about it. Do your homework. Don't dismiss everything but don't take everything to heart. If you are too emotionally attached to something one way or another you can't be logical about it. Step back and think about what you're reading.

I was sure Batman 3 would come out no earlier than 2012 when I heard about Inception's release date for 2010.

My only suggestion to people who read these reports, don't take them at face value.

Think about it. A few months ago, everyone's NEW FAVORITE ACTOR, Mickey Rourke, wasn't going to be in Iron Man because they were low-balling his salary. Mickey Rourke said he didn't think it was going to happen.

Lo and behold, what just got released a little while ago? Picture of Mickey Rourke on set as the Iron Man 2 villain.

I very much hope Nolan does a third Batman. I mean, I understand if he feels its time to move on. However, I really don't trust anyone else. I think as long as people have the expectation that they can't really top Dark Knight, it will be OK.

I'm sick of hearing about the flavor of the month director, Zach Snyder. Congrats to Zach for finishing Watchmen at all, but I don't want him doing Batman. I'm just tired of his style which IMHO RUINED and perverted Watchmen which as Alan Moore said, is unfilmable.

LOL!! There is something out there called life...you should look into it. In the grand scheme of things and well...life...Watchman was just a F'ing book, a damn good book but still a F'ing book.

Different opinions are allowed. You're posting on a message board along with the rest of it asking others to get a life?

I posted the quote from Nolan that was posted here about putting everything he wanted The Joker to in TDK and not planning on having the character return and Jett's response was that Nolan "possibly" lies in interviews.

:funny: It's known that Bale lies in interviews (or used to, anyway), but I think Nolan just plays coy. At least, from what we've seen. :cwink:

Yes, Showtime. That wasn't meant literally since I'm not a moron and realize TheVileOne most likely does in fact have a life. Just because any of us post on a message board doesn't mean we're losers or anti social in the real world either. 99% of the time I post is at work, so you trying to throw it back in my face doesn't really work. :)

I was just having fun at another fanboy who got into childish melodramatics over something fairly trivial. Him saying the film ruined and perverted the book(that specific word, perverted is lol worthy)is no different than the fanboys who screamed that Michael Bay raped their childhood with Transformers.

But what's the fun if there aren't any awesome melodramatic analogies? :csad:

I didn't realize you two were E-Friends and threw playful jabs back and forth, I guess I'll wait to see what his reaction is then. Should be playful banter right back I guess right?

I'm not saying I agree with it, but it's their opinion, which as above, they are entitled to.

Isn't it obvious what's likely going on? Nolan wants to make something that's not Batman before making another Batman movie. It's similar to THE PRESTIGE and THE DARK KNIGHT. And so what? I think at this point we all pretty much knew we weren't going to see a third Batman movie by 2011. 2012 or 2013 does seem a bit more realistic at this point.

If Nolan walks away from the franchise, he walks away from the franchise. There are other capable, talented people in the world who could make a fantastic third film.

But it would be silly on multiple levels for WB to abandon this franchise just because Nolan (and maybe even Bale) didn't return.

Fair enough.

If Nolan doesn't come back, please bring in David Fincher!

I say, fans needs to be patient. It is normal for Nolan to break in between Bats Films. And keep in mind, Nolan had designs on a recurring role for Ledger as the Joker. Now after his death, in Nolan eyes, he either has to go in another direction to a new location(story/villain) or re-route to the same location(recast Joker). He may or may not be sure what direction to take; yet realize he needs time to decide if there is a route to take.

Meanwhile.... we get "Inception"
