Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

No idea, it's actually really dumb on their part thinking the everyday joe knows what's going on and know they have to download a new app.
Well the old HBO Max app is now prompting users to get the new app.

This is what app hell looks like. :o

I don't know why they needed to come up with a separate app, when they could've easily rebranded the existing HBO Max app. Clearly no one thought about potentially breaking compatibility with streaming devices that might not be able to install additional streaming apps.

Whoever came up with these stupid business decisions needs a good slap upside the head.

And I still can't get over this worst name change ever. Was there a legit reason they needed to change the name? They could've just kept it, nothing was that wrong with it.
It’s annoying to me as I actually liked the name HBO Max. Must be some very bored, overpaid execs with nothing to do who needed to get something over the line to justify their next bonus.

The one streaming service that definitely does need a name change is bloody Peacock!

I didn't think the rebrand could get any dumber but then they really went and decided everyone would have to download a whole new app with zero warning...

Forcing people to download a new app/go to a new site with their terrible SEO name is just so Discovery. Godforbid you make it easy on the consumer for a service you'll probably drop in a year or so.

I wonder if there could be a naming solution with Max to make it clearer that it could be “the one to watch for HBO”. This sounds like a job for some talented execs to earn a few million (more) each.

I don’t care what they call the service if the interface is smooth and intuitive. Unfortunately, it’s neither thus far. On top of that, it’s hideous.

100% believe that one tweet I saw that HBO didn't want their name on the service with Dr. Pimple Popper.
