If we're going to overcome racism in America, than these things shouldn't be about whether race was a factor or not, but whether the actions taken were just or not.

The issue is whether or not the cops shot an unarmed man (and unarmed friends) unjustly.

If the man really did try and run the cops down, than their actions were perfectly justified because the man was showing himself to be a danger to the public. If action wasn't just, then let the cops hang.

I wasn't saying anything of the sort. My point was that it was false to assume that the police officers involved were white. And honestly, while complete peace between the races would be nice and all, I'd like it if the assumption that race is the motivating factor for all interrace crimes was eliminated. Sometimes 50 bullets come from racist cops, sometimes they come from overly jumpy cops.
