I have always loved the old stories from the Golden Age. There were some well known heroes and villains. But there a lot of C and D listers that were still cool.

Post some of your favorite DC charcters that fir this bill....

Here's one to start....

The Blue Boys were formed when Tommy Rogers, who wanted to help his father bring a mobster named Wolf Lupo to justice, and he was inspired by reading the exploits of Wildcat. He gathers his friends Tubby and Toughy to join in. Together they defeated Lupo in the act of threatening a witness, and after sending him to jail they began a prosperous career as heroes. Later they encounter Little Miss Redhead, who later become a member of the team. The Blue Boys retire, got married and had children of of their own. Their children were inspired by their parents' legcay to become the new Blue Boys after the fought Dr. Light.

Little Miss Redhead gives me Blue Boys. :o

But awesome thread, I love obscure characters.

TNT and Dan The Dyna-mite

TNT and Dan The Dyna-Mite are the secret identities of chemistry teacher and track coach Thomas N. "Tex" Thomas and his student Daniel Dunbar. While working together with some "radioactive salts", they discover they are charged with atomic energy. Thomas is charged with positive energy, while Dunbar is charged with negative energy. Thomas makes a pair of rings which keeps the energy dormant until they are touched together, at which point the pair gains strength, speed, and the ability to generate different forms of energy. Thomas generates heat, while Dan can generate short bursts of electricity.

Dan the Dyna-mite was that poor guy who [blackout]Got his body stolen by the Ultra-Humanite so he could make Hitler the most powerful being on the planet in Golden Age[/blackout]

The King, AKA King Standish, Master of Disguise, so good that he can fool the families of those he disguises himself as. First a crimefighter with the Green Hornet approach of claiming to be a criminal, later on a member of the OSS:

Airwave!

I remeber my first intro to him was in a 100 page special in the 70's.

Larry Jordon father of Harold (Hal) Jordon.... cousin of Hal Jordon.... isn't that confusing...

I thought he was just his cousin.

The first Airwave was Larry Jordan who had a child with Helen Jordan and named him Harold, which happened to be the same name as his cousin who would go on to be Green Lantern. Harold became Airwave when he grew up.

Hop Harrigan. He had his own Radio Series and Movie Serial in 1940's.

I can see why some of these heroes didn't make the cut. A few I could see making a come back if they reworked the designs. Probably not the blue guy though.

Did anyone here ever read Centaur Chronicles ? There's a revival of all those Golden age heroes. It's actually quite cool. Some are really templates of the current big ones, or so I find.

I've not heard of Centaur Chronicles (the only CC that I can find online is a fantasy-romance series of novels involving actual centaurs!). Who's it published by?

Edit: Okay, found a couple of images and it looks like it's a French comic. Do you know if there have been any English language editions?

Him and The Shadow are why I started buying Dynamite.
Dynamite are probably my second favourite comics publisher after DC  I really like most of the Project Superpowers stuff that I've read so far - especially some of the solo tie-ins. And I'm a b-i-i-i-g Vampirella fan (have been since her days at Warren) :yay:

I'm still holding out hope Conan goes to them someday or back to Dark Horse. I do not like what Marvel has done with him.

I like what I've seen of their take on Red Sonja in their company crossovers Prophecy and Swords of Sorrow (and there's a Vampirella/Red Sonja team-up running atm that I'm trade-waiting on), although I haven't read any of her actual solo stuff with them. Could be interesting if they get Conan as well.

I contacted the publisher because I had not the response for you. Now I have it. They'll launch a kickstarter campaign just after summer for the english version, available then.
It's quite cool actually because there are old and new art in it and the new story bring something fresh. I hope this helps.

Back on topic, I love how Dynamite happens to have crzay ideas or maybe just fanboys ideas and make it happen.
