thanks.

yeah, I think I'll wait till Wii U.

will the Wii U support motion control ( like the Wii )? or will I be able to play the game with a regular controller ( which I prefer )?

it seems the Wii U will go back to a traditional controller, yes?

Both control styles are supported.

that's good to hear!!

so, that means that Wii games that use the Wii-mote motion controller will now be playable with a regular controller on the Wii U?

Not sure... I think the Wii U is just BC... meaning you can play Wii games on it but Wii games have to be played with the Wiimote.

ah....I see.....thanks.

guess we'll find out more when we learn more about the Wii U.

The Wii U is just backwards compatible. You can't use a regular controller on Wii games unless it has support for the Classic Controller like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Resident Evil 4, and Mario Kart Wii.

Hmmm...Brawl is still full priced, NSMB is still full priced (the original one, not the Wii one), Mario Kart DS is still full priced...yep, most must-have Nintendo titles will never see a price drop.

Yup, very rarely do they get a price drop. Maybe when they become greatest hits or whatever it is Nintendo does. Heck, Mario Galaxy JUST became one of those... The first one!

I normally don't complain about reviews because your own opinion is your own opinion but wow that Gamespot review was awful. I find it hard to believe they even played the game if their biggest complaint is the control. The control so tight, precise, and perfect that there is no way it can become a complaint. They even mentioned waggling their way to victory which obviously early on is fine because the enemies are easy but later in the game it can't be done. The enemies learn and adapt to your tactics against them but what really makes me believe the reviewer didn't play game is the mention of the infrared sensing aim doesn't work. Umm the game uses the wii motionplus to aim as well. Just a really disappointing review to read.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I still don't have Mario Kart Wii or NSMBWii... and I'd get both at once if they'd just add them to the Select Line.

$10 gift card if you buy Skyward Sword at either Toys R Us or Best Buy, Target's got nothing extra.

I work at TRU so I might as well get it there.

You get a $25 GC if you get the guide, too. I might actually do that since I get the Zelda guides anyway.

Think I'll be **** out of luck if I try to get the game during the week or will TRU get enough copies?

Been watching streams of Skyward Sword most of the day.Game looks amazing:]

You should be fine... we didn't even sell out of the new Call of Duty.

Yeah I don't think Zelda will be selling out anywhere. It's going to sell great but the fact that it is on the Wii and that Twilight Princess was received pretty averagely by the fans I think will hurt its sales.

I don't think that Twilight Princess will hurt Skyward Sword. Fans were rather lukewarm to Super Mario Sunshine, but it didn't hurt the sales of its sequels. New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 all sold better than Super Mario Sunshine.

I think that Skyward Sword's sales will be around the range of the Super Mario Galaxy games.

Yeah thats a good point. The sales will be good but I don't think it'll be a ginormous seller here in the States. If this game would have come out like 2 years ago when the Wii was as its height in popularity, I think it would have sold much better but now either people have gotten rid of theirs or don't even bother with them anymore. I personally had gotten rid of mine but bought the new one for this game and it was worth every cent.

Ironically, Zelda is more popular outside Japan.

I don't know what people want from sales. The Wii is the most sold console of the so-called seventh generation, and Twilight Princess was the second most successful game after Ocarina of Time.

Just got it from a friend who works at Best Buy:]Been playing it for about an hour. This is a amazing game

I think more people bought the Mario Galaxies than Mario Sunshine, simply because the Wii was more successful than the Gamecube.

I don't think that Skyward Sword will be a ginormous seller like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but I don't think that we have to worry about this game not being successful in terms of sales. Zelda games tend to always sell above 4 million units.

I think the fact that Super Mario Galaxy being a much better game than Super Mario Sunshine helped a bit.

It doesn't matter how much better Galaxy is than Sunshine, if as many people who owned a wii had owned a gamecube, it would have sold just the same amount. It had nothing to do with the games, it was the consoles. I mean, as a Nintendo fan who owns a Nintendo console isn't going to buy a first party Mario platformer of whatever console.

What made Mario so successful (and famous) was bundling the games with the consoles. They just need to have the games ready for launch come next console.

Granted, Super Mario World would have still sold millions, but being bundled with the Super Nintendo helped both the game and the console sales.

Remember when they launched the Gamecube with Luigi's Mansion? That didn't help.
