I'm still not sure on it. We'll probably never get another game where you can play with such a variety of Zelda characters, but goddamn, are Warrior games so boring. Conflicted, the definition of.

Main motivation is the Zelda characters. I like the Warriors games, but they can get dull. I'm hoping playing as those characters will keep it interesting.

I've never played a Warriors game before, so for me this is a unique experience to try out featuring one of my favorite Nintendo franchises!

Miyamoto stopped Hyrule Warriors from being more Zelda than Dynasty Warriors

Crossovers must be tricky to develop – which fanbase do you cater specific mechanics to, and how much of each series' flavor do you implement while still making a coherent experience that can stand without its fanfare? Early talks concerning Hyrule Warriors certainly covered these questions, but more interestingly, Nintendo Life's interview with Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma and Metroid: Other M producer Yosuke Hayashi revealed that Hyrule Warriors was initially meant to be more Zelda than Dynasty Warriors.

When Hayashi approached Aonuma with hopes of collaborating on a Zelda project, he suggested the pair rethink what's possible for a Zelda game. He still intended to create something that resembled the mainline Zelda series more than the Dynasty Warrior games, however. When Zelda series creator Shigeru Miyamoto heard, he stepped in: Rather than adding Dynasty Warrior mechanics to a traditional Zelda game, Miyamoto insisted that Hyrule Warriors should focus on "grafting Zelda onto the Dynasty Warriors experience," the opposite of what Hayashi originally envisioned.

We'll see how the unexpected blend turns out later this month. If you're curious enough to unwaveringly brave the adventure regardless of reviews, there's still time to pick from Hyrule Warriors' pre-order costumes.

hmmm in light of what's being done with the recently announced dragon quest heroes title. I'm not sure this was the best idea. I'm saying this cause even though the latter game may at first glance it may seem like a other version of DW, from what was put up on their twitter which most people stated after the news of that came out on gamer news sites the D.Q.H. isn't what the Japanese call

pokeslob • 6 days ago I don't think this is intended to be a full-on Musou game, considering they didn't put Musou in the title and they lead off with "Action-RPG" EITHER WAY, I'm so stoked!

Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~ Oxybelis • 6 days ago it's not going to be a "musou game." SE tweeter account confirmed it

Apparently this is what they are called "Musou." DQH will have more RPG story elements compared to H.R.W. which is what will set it a part. So they are claiming . this doesn't mean I think Hyrule warrior's will fail, but those looking for more then what DW has to offer.....

Well we'll see what happen's.

I have absolutely no idea what it is you're trying to say...

I just want the game to come out so we can stop speculating about it and start enjoying it!

It's been out in Japan for awhile, so I don't there's really anything left to speculate about?

well technically there is, we can speculate about how good it is gameplay wise, and how the game is overall. Mainly because we (as in those not in Japan) have not played it yet. We can read about how others feel, but until we get the game in our hands...it doesn't mean much.

Oh well, yeah, I guess if you've never played a Warriors game in the past, you wouldn't know

exactly, that's why I'm actually more excited. I'm aware of the Warriors series, and it's games, but I've never played one. So I won't be bogged down with past experiences as I play Hyrule Warriors!

Hyrule Warriors’ Next Update Will Be Discussed At Tokyo Game Show. September 9, 2014 . 1:12am

Information on Koei Tecmo’s next update to the game isn’t far off.

Koei Tecmo previously stated that they have long-term plans for Hyrule Warriors so fans can enjoy it for longer, and according to the game’s official Twitter account, it looks like we’ll get hear more about an upcoming update during the Tokyo Game Show, which runs from September 18th – 21st.

The tweet in question reads: “We plan to hold a game competition for Hyrule Warriors at Tokyo Game Show on Saturday. By all means, those of you who are confident in your skills, go check it out! We’ll also have the latest information on the next update, along with a demo!”

Hyrule Warriors recently saw its “Ver. 1.2.0” update, which fixed a few bugs and also added the Challenge Mode to the game. For those of you wondering, the North American release will see the update on its release date of September 26, 2014.

Day-one patch adding Challenge Mode to Hyrule Warriors

Hyrule Warriors who are looking for a test of skills that goes beyond the game's Adventure Mode will be glad to hear that, as reported by Nintendo World Report, developer Koei Tecmo will be releasing a day-one patch that adds Challenge Mode to the game when it releases in North America on September 26.

So just what is Challenge Mode? According to members of a Nintendo Treehouse stream made earlier this week, it's basically "Adventure Mode on steroids." So ... it's tougher and angrier, but also has some acne problems and premature balding? Whatever you say, Nintendo.

Obviously that's a joke, but the truth of the matter is we won't know what Challenge Mode has in store for us until later this month. Remember warriors, patience is a virtue.

EDIT: And oh yeah, here's the free characters; they are the original villains of the game. NOTE: This is all Japanese release date information, we'll probably find out dates for NA and EU at a later time unless it'll all be simultaneous.

sanstitrec2zhb.png

EDIT 2: Apparently, I was misreading, and those original dates are actually EU dates to begin with. So, for JP and EU, the dates will match up, no word on NA at this point.

Also, the price for the pre-purchase "season pass" apparently equates to $30 in JP. Not sure how that will translate to other regions, since Japan sometimes have rather inflated prices for stuff.

So, 6 more characters. Only 2 new weapons though. I wonder who gets them. Dark Link costume is cool

Joystiq Streams is playing Hyrule Warriors live at 4:00PM EST on Joystiq.com/Twitch.

CAN YOU DIG IT?!

Yes, it's going to be a non-stop cavalcade of Link, Impa, and Midna action. We'll slice up some Moblins and than a bunch of Gorons, just to put the Wii U through its paces. Anthony John Agnello (@ajohnagnello) is playing, Earnest Cavalli (@ecavalli) will discuss his review, and Richard Mitchell (@TheRichardM) will hang in the chat wondering why Nintendo didn't include Tingle in this game.

That's Joystiq.com/Twitch at 4:00PM EST, just how we do it every Tuesday and Thursday. Enjoy the streams? Follow us on Twitch to catch us whenever we go live.

The season pass for US is $20. Not too bad.
